Having only 3 good teams in 60 years will do that.
Can you name these only three good teams for us?

(1) Because we Suck arse in 09-10
(2) For fans to really pack the PMAC, we need a superstar, Ie Chris, Shaq to get the season ticket-holders and students to a non conference game in December.
(3) Football School and always will be. Not to say it can be done at a football school, look at Florida,Texas, Ohio State, but those schools have be able to maintain solid programs over the years. We have had 3 or 4 good teams in 10 years.
2000 Sweet 16, 2006 Final Four, 2009 Sec Champs, 2nd rd of tournament. Now we have gone to the dance in other years but they were one and done.
Don't really know what the answer is? I am 40 and I guess it's not cool to play basketball for LSU??

You must have attended LSU right around the time I did. LSU basketball was very big at that time, Football had half empty stadiums at kickoff.

Last year we had the SEC player of the year in Marcus Thornton...13-3 in conference...Tas Mitchell as the local star...and still couldn't sell it out. Pathetic.

knight was a very good coach but he was able to bully the officials and I think Brown and LSU would have beaten Knight and Indiana at least once if the Offiials had any balls at all! Maybe if that had happened LSU may have been able to get more recruits and may have become more of a nationally recognized BASKETBALL program!!

The whole LSU can't be good in basketball because it's a football school is a bunch of crap. Texas, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, West Virgina, Tennessee, UCLA jusst to name a few.

What they need to do is start scheduling tough out of conference games and try getting a few at home. Remember back to when they played Arizona at home when Zona was ranked #1, the PMAC was packed. All it will take is to get lucky one year and get a Greg Monroe to stay or someone of that nature and you got it.

I agree tigerman18. Become the Gonzaga again. Play anyone at anytime. Show yourself into the party instead of waiting for it to come to you. Your in the SEC...that is a start. Dale Brown played anyone like Georgetown and Duke. Get the exposure on ESPN so Vitale can prop you up. Play McNeese St and no one fills the arena. Put yourself out there like your would a resume or interview.
