haha UL isnt even on the same level as ND, and until the 06 sugar bowl LSU wasnt on the same level as ND. Nice try.
Weis took over a ND team that was 11-12 the previous 2 seasons under Ty
Kragthorpe took over a program that was 21-4 the previous 2 seasons
I think you are taking history into account as ND hasn't been very good for awhile. I mean if you want to bring up 06 and ND in Sugar Bowl Well in 06 UL was 12-1 and playing in the Orange bowl.

NFL experience is very important when it helps someone make their point.
If it refutes their position, we are told that the NFL =/= college.

had great numbers until Brady Quinn left. With Clausen he struggled for two years.
WTF?
Clausen put up really good numbers and really great numbers in 2009.
Weis gets a pass because his offense was well, well above average during his time there and he wasn't anywhere to close to the debacle Krag was at Louisville.
This is a fricking retarded thread

Weis wasn't hired at LSU, or he'd be getting hammered.
bullshite. The most exciting hire Les has ever made was Pelini. Chavis has been a great hire, but people weren't shaking Les's hand after he picked the Chief up off of waivers.
If Weis was the new OC here people would be talking about how well he develops QB's (the first thing Jimmy Clausen said about Weis is that he spent so much time with him and how he had already improved on so many aspects of quarterbacking...and he brought up Tom Brady, turning him from a game management QB into a preseason favorite to win the MVP every year), and his Superbowl rings, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
LSU fans would be focusing on all of the above and not on top 50 offenses at shite arse Texas A&M, or a mediocre record (29-22) in Conferece USA, or Krags tutoring of a veteran NFL quarterback, who'd been to the pro bowl 3 times before they'd ever met.
Don't put the unimpressiveness of Krag's resume on the fans. Charlie Weis...now that's an impressive hire. Krags may turn out to be great, and I'm certainly rooting for him to turn the offense around at my alma mater...only time will tell. But don't act like LSU fans would be shitting down the throat of a hire like Weis or Fuente.
I do agree with this, though...

Head coaching isn't a testament to OC ability anyway.

While SK gets hammered for HC firing at Louisville?
He really shouldn't because we're not hiring him as head coach. Both were responsible for the entire program where they were fired and neither are in that capacity anymore. Both only handle offense.

Has Hot Carl chimed in on this thread? He always says what I want to say but in a better way.

1. If Weis were the OC of LSU, you would hear complaints about HIM too.
2. Weis has had NFL success as a OC and not just with New England.

because every other team's hires are great ours suck. just ask the negamiles folks.
Weis is going to be an issue for UF. Muschamp is gonna have a older guy that thinks he knows it all looking over his shoulder.
I hope Muschamp can come out of it all. He seems like a quality guy.

I'm not sure the analogy is apt. Very different situations and Kragthorpe flamed out miserably. That being said, Kragthorpe is a much better hire than folks are giving credit. He is a very good offensive mind and will be excellent with Mettenberger (former QB and QB coach).
His last OC gig was with Texas A&M (1998-2000). The 98 squad won the Big XII. The 99 and 00 squads weren't very talented but they did one thing we haven't seen LSU do in a while: they blew out inferior opponents. They struggled against dominant teams like OU. But they hung 40+ points on teams they were better than.
There is a reason he was a "hot commodity" before Louisville. It's because he knows offense.

SK does not have a Superbowl Ring. Stop griping SK will get his chance at redemption.

I agree in this situation. HC isn't the same as OC. People who are incapable of seeing the difference will bitch.

I agree. The people bitching seem incapable of knowing the difference.
