Just because it’s between a white guy and a black guy, doesn’t mean “it’s about race.” Probably to a very small percentage of fans this is the case. But overall people base their opinions on who they really think is the best option. It’s just happen stance that one is white and one is black.

I vividly remember a ranter (small minority) going on and on about lsu needing a white QB during the Jefferson/Lee controversy. To say their aren't people who believe white QBs are better because they're "smarter" is naive. And, to dismiss it is only acting like it doesn't exist.
