The Yankees beat the Pirates on a routine basis for a reason, they dont always have the best coach. Better players mean better results. Period.

sure it is. a sufficiently talented player will get drafted from LSU just the same as duke.
Theres this thing called exposure, making the tournament and not sucking kinda help.

Apples to oranges.
Coaching in college has WAY more effect on a game than in the pros. Also, baseball is a completely different sport where overall coaching has much less effect than in basketball.

But Woodward isnt going to can his own hire unless made to do so.
This is foolish. I’ve seen lots of guys hired some of whom didn’t work out. I’ve seen them usually given every opportunity to turn it around, but eventually they are let go. Why would you think Woodward is any different?

Yes, my first push back on this was that the head coach at LSU for men's basketball has to be the best fundraiser out there for his program. I don't think anyone believes CMM can or will be good at this and if the numbers are correct he was not in the past - and probably wasn't really much involved.
Yup.
Imagine McMahon lobbying boosters for NIL backing. Now imagine Bruce Pearl, Todd Golden,
Yes, from what I've read Golden is very persistent
