Wonder how much would be said this morning if LSU would have scored on the hail mary? State obviously was not trying to score when inside the 5 yard line with less than 5 minutes remaining in game. They even refused to kick a field goal on 4th down. What was Mullen thinking? Trying to be the good guy and not run up the score. If LSU would have made the improbable comeback he would have been in deep dodo.

Kicking a field goal has more risk of a blocked kick return for a td than running a play. Also kicking a field goal opens up a kickoff return possibility. LSU had 9 offensive points at that point in the game. It's a common coaching move.

Doesn't expain the lack of agressive plays on 1st, 2nd, and third downs.

Mullens strategy was to bleed the clock against a defense that couldn't stop him all game.

It was the right call given how the game had been going, but we decided to wake up with six minutes left in the game
