and no way should Bama have needed a blocked field goal to beat 7-6 Tennessee this year, but shite happens. Good teams should actually be commended for finding a way to win those games rather than criticized for even being in them. I think a lot of you don't understand just how hard it is to win a game in the SEC. There's not much separating 8-4 from 11-1.

Now, that's not excusing our last 2 seasons or the job that Les did. Both sucked and cannot be tolerated for too much longer. However, I don't think we're all that far away from having a great season again. It depends mostly, though, on our players. Championship teams have players that step up in crunch time and make big plays when they have to. We've had a little of that the last 2 years, but not nearly enough.

AU 2006 isn't on Les.
The hell it isn't. That was the worst offensive game plan I have ever seen - and that includes any of the 112th ranked offensive game plans this season. Against a weak AU secondary and fairly strong AU front and with LSU loaded with passing game talent, Les decides to run it down their throat for 3 quarters.

It was a joke. Once genius Les saw that LSU wasn't going to score more than 3 points (it took him 3 quarters to realize this - just like Miles), we opened it up. Just in time for the referees to make some of the most ridiculous call ever.

I hate the refs for the game as well, but if Les wasn't a complete joke, LSU would have been up by THREE TDs going into the 4th quarter and the refs never have a chance.

Ok. We agree to disagree. I will leave it at that.

2005: hurricane katrina caused the team to play for something like 10 weeks in a row... SECCG vs UGA we were tired and got rolled (we may not have been in the NC but we def should have been in the Sugar Bowl

2006: Auburn's ref gives a bad call... if we win that game we would rep the SEC West vs florida in the SECCG... if that happens i dont think we lose to them again putting us in the NCG vs OSU

circumstances beyond our control kept us out of 2 NCGs

Katrina was unreal. The dwarf would have done no better in preparing the team than Miles. The dwarf would have cursed God himself for messing with his schedule etc.

06 no excuse but refs at Auburn.

Not enough 2-or-more-loss teams.

Our title hopes could have survived the refs at Auburn if we hadn't played like the Keystone Cops at Fla.

God, but that was one ugly game.

We got rewarded for Arkansas losing an extra game in the SEC c'ship and got to play one of the most overrated teams of all time in the Sugar Bowl. 2006 could have beaten anyone. The BCS ending allowed for it to be a successful season, along with the road win at Arky the game before. Aside from that, it was not what it should have been. That team was special.

Jecrampus Muscle cost us both years. Cost a minimum 3 points in tenn loss and fumbled away Florida. Now he and his strong arm suck in raiderland.

This one is one of my favorites and something that clearly shows people will make things up in their head in order to hate Miles. Let's look at the stats:

quote:

2006 vs Auburn:
Rushes: 23 (4 QB scrambles) / 18 through 3 quarters (3 QB scrambles)

Pass Attempts: 37 / 29 through 3 quarters

Yea, that Les just wouldn't quit running the damn ball.

Did you really read my post and come up with the belief that I'm a "Sabanite?" I just don't know how to respond to that.

Now that you think you are so smart, look at the play-by-play for each drive and you'll have a much better understanding of when passes and runs were called.

The ratio of run to pass isn't the glaring issue for that game. It was when we passed and how we passed until the 4th quarter.

This is your statement.

why did it take until 2007 to get the Crystal Ball?

The same reason it took from 1958 until 03!!!!
Read real slow, there is more than one team playing NCAA football...not everybody wins the NC every year.

One more thing..I am not and have never been a big Miles supporter. I think he a good guy and good coach..just not what LSU deserves or needs.

But...Folk who keep bragging about "Sabans players" such as yourself ought to ask the question, "How many "Shula" recruits are on this team?" Also how many of Dinardos recruits on those early Saban teams?

This point has been beat to death..the guy did a great job at LSU and we are all thankful for the teams he coached and the players he recruited but get over him, he is gone, he is not here, we have a team and a coach(?) lets support them.

Not sure what I'm looking for here.

quote:

1st Qtr Run / Pass:
1st Down: 3/2
2nd Down: 1/3
3rd Down: 2/2

2nd Qtr Run / Pass:
1st Down: 2/4
2nd Down: 3/3
3rd Down: 1/3

3rd Qtr Run / Pass:
1st Down: 3/4
2nd Down: 2/4
3rd Down: 0/3

4th Qtr Run / Pass:
1st Down: 3/4
2nd Down: 1/4
3rd Down: 2/1

What, in your opinion, is the proper time to run and throw and how did the AU 2006 game plan deviate from that?
