In my opinion, I think there are two possible factors that played into this whole deal. First, I think Alleva might have thrown the idea of firing Miles out to the general public to see the response it would generate. I dont think he anticipated the support Miles received. Also, I think there is a possibility he was lead to believe he would be able to hire Jimbo Fisher and for whatever reason it didnt happen. To some degree it did appear there was some disappointment expressed from him, but frick him.

I tend to think along those same lines..... I feel that many of the BOS thought the media heat was WAY TOO much for LSU and would & did make LSU look bad.
If I were Alleva, I would watch my back. The BOS, if indeed they are truly not happy with Les's mediocre results and no SEC West titles, will find an AD they can control, and who will press CLM to make MAJOR personal and personnel changes with this program.
If CLM does so, then he stays....as long as the results make the power $$$$ people happy.
If CLM does not, and we continue to have poor offense, no Heisman, no Bama wins, no QB development, poor depth in all key areas, no SEC West titles.....then he's replaced.
Just my opinions

Good points. IF they are that concerned with public opinion (which seems kinda odd considering how this played out) they may use Alleva for a fall guy now.
