Why can't LSU beat Nebraska in a bowl game?

LSU is 0-4 against them in bowl games. Maybe one day they will get another shot at them now that Nebraska is in the Big-10.

I'll be honest...........this is nothing I'm losing sleep over.

When was the last time we played them in a bowl? Or ever? The Sugar Bowl in '87 or something, right?

Yes the 1987 Sugar Bowl. The 1983 Orange Bowl is the one LSU should have won because they blew a big lead.

The only reason I'll have Nebraska on my mind now is when I remember we hired their old HC as DC and it didn't go so well.

Our kicker missed a field goal that lost the 83 orange bowl .

Were you around in the 70's and 80's when NU was an elite program? Besides, trying to run 160 pound Sammy Martin up the middle against Nebraska's corn-fed behemoths in the Sugar Bowl is not a winning strategy, Coach Arnsparger.

Well that sucks. Too bad we can't go back in time for a do over.

This must have been how they got Mickey Joseph to leave. Nebraska is obviously the better program.

I honestly forgot Nebraska had a football team.
When were they last relevant? When Dinardo was our HC?

Because we took points off the board in the 1983 Orange Bowl.

LSU always put up a good fight against Nebraska. But the Nebraska you know now is not the Nebraska we knew then. And the same goes for LSU, too.
Let make an analogy for you… LSU playing old school Nebraska was like wrestling someone who weighs 50 pounds more than you and is better trained. LSU was a little faster, but back then the game was all about power, not space. Few had success against Nebraska back in those days.

I've got friends who are season ticket holders for Nebraska football and not once have they brought up that the huskers are 4-0 against us. They are more upset about their current state of affairs. They just finished last in the big 10 in recruiting! Yes last! Behind Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana etc.

Go look at those Nebraska teams. The aren’t the Nebraska of today. LSU playing them close was a big deal.
