say bk is 10 mil range coach for a hire, but just seeing this, from a response I got on secR.

How did y’all not complain about this or I must’ve have missed it.

31 year track record

ND all time winning coach...

Left ND a top 7 team...

All signs of a pro

Considered by other coaches very good

Picked up a rumor that Kelly and Woodward have same agent. Don’t know if it’s true.

Bless your hearts. And get used to it.

Well one reason is that BK would be 80 years old at the end of that contract.

LSU was trying to pry him away from Notre Dame. Despite what some Rantards might say, HC at ND is a prestigious college football job. No coach had ever been poached from ND before. Offering a 10 year contract @ 10 mil may have been what it took.

Plenty of people did.

Also nobody really knows what BK made at ND. It was always speculation. ND will never pay 10 mil for a coach and maybe that’s why BK left.

Better connected people than I are pretty confident his annual salary when he left ND was around $7.5m per year in total.

His contract ran to 2024. During the 2021 season his agent sought a raise/extension after Kelly reached the ND record wins total. The ND AD told him that he'd only get further raises/extensions if he won a National Championship.

It would be reasonable to assume that played some role in his overall decision to leave, when presented with the LSU offer.
