It’s all a matter of preference. You might prefer speedy players with less power and I prefer guys with power. It would be one thing if we actually stole bases with all that speed PM goes after but we don’t. When Cannizzaro was here we seemed to steal bases right?

We play like a power hitting team but don’t have much power...does that make sense to you?

Its not a matter of preference, its a matter of fact. Ive been tracking different statistical rankings of all regional, super regional, and cws teams for the last several years. Of all the stats, homeruns correlate to winning less than just about all the major stats.
And steals are great, but if you get thrown out more than 20% of the time, its detrimental

I don’t care about your stats but can you tell me why we recruit speed and don’t play like a team with speed? Is that good coaching?

I think we play like a team with speed. We just dont steal bases. Which statistically, isnt a huge deal either way. Run expectancy doesnt change alot if you are stealing 7 or 8 out of 10 bases.

I also dont think we are usually as speedy of a team as you are making us out to be. We have a few guys every year with some speed. A little more than average there

There is no clear cut choice. If you fire Mainieri, you're rolling the dice. Some young buck would come in, but there's no crystal ball as to how he'd perform.

Why do you care how we score runs? The objective is to score more than your opponent. Right now we are 4th in the SEC in runs scored. It’s not the best in the conference but it’s a far cry from the worst with several weeks to go.

It's really no different than almost every other thread they post in.

There is arguments to be made about the baseball team. The problem is, a lot of these idiots are so ignorant about the game that they don't know which arguments to make. So they buy into whatever a few of the other dumb asses say, and they make themselves look like fools.

Do you mean most of the idiots on the board?

There is more parity in college baseball than any sport. We play in the toughest conference. The margin of error is small. The question to me is "does Mainieri need to make some changes to his coaching staff?"

Th more you post this the less credible you are, keep it up. AB is an avg field dimensions wise. Whether 5-10ft of difference which is your argument is not the reason we are #4 in the league in run production. You want HR just for the sake of saying we have a power team. We could be last in the league in run production and you would be happy that we are a power team but strikeout 50% of the time. Are you 5?

Can you explain why we are one of the worst at SO and hitting homers?

Alex Box plays small and is hitter friendly anyone saying otherwise doesn’t know shite about baseball.
