Didn’t he barely beat Duke at home by a field goal? By itself, I wouldn’t discredit FSU’s season because of a close game against a weak opponent, but in the context of the whole season, it makes FSU look like a pretty poor team. Not sure I’d want to hire a guy for so much money when he had a tough time getting wins in a weak conference with such a perennial powerhouse of a team/brand.

Saban’s a great coach, but his record is inflated by virtue of the name of the team he’s coaching. “Players make plays.” Both Saban and bama have become mythical in the media, which boosts their recruiting.
