re: Who wins more games as LSUs head coach in 2015?
People stopped talking about UAB and ULM when Saban won hardware. O hasn’t done that yet so people will continue to bring up Troy.

Didn't LSU throw it 50+ times that game?

35 times for 271 yards (59 rushing yards that game) against Arky and 51 times for 324 yards (184 rushing yards that game) against Ole Miss. Don't burst their bubble. Trashing Miles is the only enjoyment some of them get.

I think you get a higher floor with the defensive line coach, higher ceiling with Les.

re: Who wins more games as LSUs head coach in 2015?
quote:

Kinda funny that you leave those stats out.

what stats?

ole miss was a 10 win team that beat bama.

ole miss now struggles to reach .500
arky was a 8 win team in 2015
they won more games in 2015 than 2017 and 2018 combined.
quote:

isn’t dumb enough to run it up the middle repeatedly all game long against top 10 run defenses.

2015 ole miss beat saban and it was their 2nd time in a row

quote:

was so fricking embarrassed that year watching our blockheaded coach run it up the middle while Ole Piss and Arkansas loaded the box and were laughing at how easy it was to stop our offense.

51 pass attempts against ole miss
35 pass attempts against Arkansas
DO YOU FOLLOW LSU FOOTBALL?

then 2018 must've really embarrassed you...

2015 offense compared to 2018
better points per game
better points per play
better yards per game
better yards per play
better 3rd down conversion %
more 1st downs per game
better top
better qb completion %
better passing yards per completion
better rushing yards per game
better rushing yards per play
better offensive tds per game
better redzone td%

you must have really been embarrassed watching Southeastern Louisiana hold us to 3 1st downs and 63 yards in the 2nd half in 2018.

you must have really been embarrassed watching the 2018 offense be held under 400 yards 7 times

its amazing watching you not hold this staff to the same standard you held the last staff to.

Les Miles tenure at lsu

one of the most accomplished tenures in sec history

-most weeks in the top 25
-as many top 5 finishes as saban, mac, and dietzel combined
- as many top 10 finishes as the previous 40 seasons of lsu football combined
-the 1st coach in 4 decades to win a sec title with a team consisting of 100% his players
-no program beat more teams that finished the season ranked
-best win % in lsu history
- best ooc regular season win % in sec history(minimum 50 games)
- best home win % in lsu history
- best ooc win% in lsu history
-best ooc regular season win% in lsu history
- most top 25 finishes in lsu history
- most top 20 finishes in lsu history
- most top 15 finishes in lsu history
- most top 10 finishes in lsu history
- most top 5 finishes in lsu history

you dont luck into those accomplishments.
could a better x and o coach achieved more with the talent miles had? I BELIEVE SO but there is no guarantee that that talent is at lsu without Miles' recruiting.

there are very few elite recruiters that are also elite x and O coaches. that's what makes them the best coaches in cfb.

That Troy team was better than the UAB and ULM teams that Nick Saban lost to at home. I can give you a shitload of other examples of great college coaches losing to programs they had no business losing to.

in 2000 saban took over a team that had 3 wins the previous year
in 2007 saban took over a bama team with 6 wins the previous year
In 2017 O had a team with the 2nd most nfl draft picks in cfb

quote:

You O haters need to find a better card to play than that “O lost to Troy” card that you think is the trump card in every argument.

it is a trump card when discussing bad losses for lsu coaches

missing tons of defensive starters

Florida could possibly be without its entire starting defensive front

Defensive tackle Joey Ivie is already out for Saturday’s matchup with a thumb injury, and defensive tackle Caleb Brantley is questionable with a finger injury. The news is not much better with defensive ends Jordan Sherit and Bryan Cox Jr., although Florida head coach Jim McElwain is not ready to close the door completely on Cox playing against the Tigers.

In addition to those four, linebacker Alex Anzalone, who is the second-leading tackler with 32 stops, will play with a splint on his hand.

and some offensive players..

The Gators are also dinged up on the offensive side of the ball with quarterback Luke Del Rio’s status up in the air due to a sprained MCL in his knee.
"What we'll do is he'll go some today, he'll go more tomorrow and Wednesday," McElwain said. "We'll see exactly where and how much that swells, where the pain is and where the stability is."
In Del Rio’s absence, Purdue transfer Austin Appleby has led the Gators from behind center the last two games, meaning two Purdue transfer quarterbacks could face off in LSU’s Danny Etling versus Appleby.
Starting offensive tackle David Sharpe, who plays on the left side, is also listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.
Wide receivers Chris Thompson and Brandon Powell are also nursing a hamstring and ankle,

re: Who wins more games as LSUs head coach in 2015?
Coach O beat essentially the same Ole Miss team (ranked 3) in 2016, so my bet is that he does the same in 2015. Arkansas is always a crap shoot bc of the schedule. Les lost to them in 2007 with everything on the line and skull f’d them in 2011, but only after TM7 lit the house on fire with a punt return for a TD. This is the season for the lovers and haters to either come together or go their own way for a while. We finally have a real QB and a defense AT THE SAME TIME. It’s a 2012-2013 type of team, but with a different coach. I think O and Aranda finish the season better than Les and Chief.

Not sure what you think his so funny. OM beat the snot out of a good Georgia team and had a big win over TAM prior to the LSU game. They played Alabama down to the wire in a shootout. The roster was damn near the same as 2015 when they kicked our ass.

The only people who continue to bring up Troy are O haters as though a double standard is OK. Much better coaches have lost games they had no business losing. Great coaches have had teams that shite the bed on big stages. Saban’s Bama team was a 6 point favorite and lost a NC game to Clemson by 4 touchdowns. Steve Spurrier lost a NC game by 38 points. Jumbo Fisher lost a CFP game by 39. Pete Carroll lost a game to Stanford where USC was a 38.5 point favorite. Lloyd Carr lost at home to Appalachian State when Michigan was a 31 point favorite. Mack Brown had a Top 10 team and lost a rivalry game to Oklahoma by 38. These are all coaches that have won national championships. shite happens.

Well first off they weren’t “ranked 3”, they were 23 and that was literally the last week they have been ranked to this day, so no clue what you were talking about unless you meant 2014 when a Miles team actually pulled a massive upset against #3 OM.

And except for the three first rounders they lost (Tunsil, Nkimdiche, Treadwell) not to mention Cody Core, Denzel Nkemdiche, and Fahn Cooper yeah I guess it was “damn near” the same roster

Ole Miss went from a top 25 rushing defense in 2015 (not to mention 2014 when a Miles team pulled that upset, as if Miles never beat the Rebels ) to one of the worst in the country. Miles would have run all over that defense the same way O’s team did and pretending otherwise is embarrassing.

That OM team also finished 5-7 (2-6) and was mired in the NCAA controversy that would ultimately take down Freeze, so not sure how you can make the argument with a straight face.

If anything there are arguments to be made that O would have actually lost to MSU in 15, hell even in 16, given his struggles against Mullen (not to mention Syracuse), and that Miles would have beaten UF in 16 and probably would have even scored against Alabama, but those types of hypotheticals are stupid and pointless.

SHHH. You are going to get all the prick lickers running in here to make more excuses.

Nothing worse than running the ball left down on the goal line when LSU hadnt moved the ball at all left most of the game. So much love in here for a coach that hasnt done squat, its amazing.
He has made way too many mistakes to garner all this love.

Orgeron is lucky that Burrow fell in his lap, after he lost Surtain to the gumps. He didnt sign a DB at all that recruiting cycle at DBU! And no QB after telling the world that was job 1. SMH
He should pay 10% of his salary to the Burrow family for the rest of his tenure at LSU.

But luck counts. Its not how; its if. And Burrow is the QB at LSU.

Hes got the highest paid DC in the business and a very good QB. Hopefully, he has somehow endured all these rookie mistakes and has learned valuable lessons and is now ready to coach a great program and win big.

Saban followed each of those losses up with an SEC Championship. What did O follow the Troy loss up with?
