Mettenberger could be our Roethlisberger.

the qb whom the coaches believe will give the team the best chance to win will start. I know that is a concept that many on here can't fathom, but nevertheless...

Disagree

Miles, "My strength and my biggest weakness is my loyalty". He's telling you right there. JJ is the starter. It doesn't matter if Mett completes every pass he throws in the Spring. JJ WILL START AGAINST OREGON.

so you think players should get benched as some sort of cathartic punishment regardless of who is in line to come in and replace them?

Also, please tell me at which point in his 6 years here has Miles played the inferior QB while the superior one sat behind him on the bench.

You make me ashamed to be from West Monroe sometimes.

Miles will play who he thinks is the best QB. He may(like most coaches) value experience more than some of us, but it is not the ONLY criteria he uses. That was made abundantly clear this year with all the true FR playing over more experienced guys all over the field.

And Mett is not coming in as a true frosh. His situation is pretty unique. Not only did he have an entire year at GA under Richt, but he played a shite-ton of QB last year in JUCO. Obviously not the same level, but with Jordan splitting so much with Lee, Mett actually played more QB the last year than Jefferson.

Jefferson may indeed wind up starting, but I think it will be because he performed better than Mett in spring and fall practices. If Mett is clearly better, he will start. Nothing Les has done since he's been here would indicate otherwise.

How could a QB possible be ready in 7 months to lead a team to a championship run in the SEC? You think we're Auburn?

I bet you a Sweep the Kitchen that Miles doesn't name a starter until the deadline for transferring passes. If he names Mett, the other two leave and LSU is stuck with no one behind Mett.

If you were a senior QB, and you were not named the starter...Why would you stay? That would make ZERO sense. JJ starts against Oregon, zero doubt in my mind.

Im not debating who starts...just the fact that neither JJ or JL will leave if les names ZM the starter.
I know JJ has pouting tendencies, but I wouldnt bet he would leave.

That's not going to happen.

Mett starts or LSU underachieves again next year.

I don't see why he wouldn't be ready to go by the first game.

Tell us how quickly you learned the offense when you started as a first timer.

Its kind of funny that most don't give JLee much of a chance to be the starter. In the type of offense I think we will be running, I'd like to think either he or Mett would be the starter, and he does have more experience at this point.

The biggest key to all of this will be if Kragthorpe installs his entire offense. If he does, then all of the quarterbacks are at square one.

I think Lee fits Krag's offense better than JJ. I just don't know if Miles will abandon JJ. This past year was horrid for JJ, but Miles still gave him the nod every game.

Outside of the Florida/Tennessee game, Lee has done nothing to deserve playing time for next season. JJ & Mett would have to be god awful for him to get pt.
