The cotton and the Peach are not the traditional major bowls...what are you 10?

Ask most CFB fans what the major bowls are and they will list the other 4

ETA: you will see more teams going forward making the rose, sugar, fiesta, and orange bowl with 3 losses. Not surprised you can’t grasp that concept

Eh they are now and the Cotton Bowl was previously. The Fiesta Bowl didn’t become a major bowl until the last 25-30 years.

Read what I post and comprehend it this time:

The cotton and peach bowls are in the rotation for the playoff. That puts them in the same category as the 4 major bowls under the new system.

To make it more simple for you, 10 teams were selected for the BCS bowls each year: 12 are now selected for the “NY6”. New Years Six—Six “Major” bowl games.

Get it?

I know that about the cotton. Actually the cotton lost it’s prestige when the fiesta bowl passed it over 20 years ago

I get it apparently you don’t. I say more teams with 3 losses will make the fiesta, rose, sugar, and orange than prior to the playoffs...you still want to dispute that?

Two of these will be playoff games, rotating with the cotton and peach bowls, each season. Outside of the playoffs you still only have 4 “major” bowl games. Just like with the BCS.

Right, but when the BCS began, there were only 4 major bowls with one serving as the national title game (8 teams). Then they had 4 major bowls plus the national title game (10 teams). Now there are 4 non playoff major bowls plus two playoff bowl games (12 teams). The point he was making is there are more major bowls now with more teams playing in them, so logic would dictate there will be more teams with 3 losses now than there were before.

I’m saying it’s easier to get in now than it was before.

Jesus you’re stupid.

I’m starting to think y’all are arguing the same thing, but presenting it in different ways, but calling each other stupid

Which is why using bowl games to measure coaching tenures is stupid. Particularly so when they cross bowl format eras.

Under the current format LSU would have been in a major bowl in 2012 and maybe again in 2013.

The whole issue was what Ricky said...you and I both pretty much posted the same thing and then RB comes in attacking me

That's all he does. He's a kid, didn't even know who Deangelo Benton was.

Well given only one team gets to claim a national title under the current system and only 4 make the CFP, I think final rankings are as fair as anything in grading teams who don’t win national titles or get selected as a playoff team. I do agree that the strength of these major bowls is not what it once was.

2012 100%. 2010 as well possibly

Were we the second best team in the SEC West last season?

Still surprising the Cotton bowl lost its prestige

As far as the Peach being a NY6 game it’s laughable. I think most tiger fans would say the fiesta is better than the peach

Stadium was a dump. Jerrys World brought a little of it back.

The big 4 used to be the Rose, Cotton, Orange and Sugar. Cotton also had that tie in with the SWC, which was pretty bad.

I went to the Arkansas UCLA game after Aikman won the Heisman

Answer the question Roger. 'Cause when you say "yes", I'm gonna reply back that Texas A&M might disagree with that.

Which is the exact same thing you said to LNCHBOX about Arkansas and KY when he said "Fact, we were the best team in 2007."

Don't be scared Roger. Answer the question.
