It should stay with Murphy. He's had one of the toughest LSU careers I've ever heard of. He was so good but couldn't ever get out of the trainers room and not to mention him losing his parents. I always thought if he could ever get healthy that he would be a feature back for this team. It sucks that he couldn't stay healthy.

It could also go to JLee, he was called the worst quarterback to ever come through LSU, stuck it out, and quickly improved and is now producing positive numbers instead of negative numbers. He's better than the guy ahead of him, IMHO.

I am hardly a new fan as I have been attending LSU games for 27 years now. Yes, I remember that we had a certain QB wear a #18 jersey, but he didn't give it to Hester. He didn't start the tradition. The tradition started with the Hester-to-Dickson transfer of the number.

Not going to be JL or JJ since they haven't consistently played well and the jersey was passed to a player with great leaderships skills on and off the field along with a great personality and love for the team so Murphy definitely applies here.
