In the September 13, 1971 issue of Sports Illustrated, the magazine featured Casanova on the front cover, with the headline: "Tommy Casanova of LSU, Best Player in the Nation."

Trivia: Who was the other Corner when Tommy was playing for LSU?

Cass and Jones were two of the best to play at LSU..

Another trivia: How many 1,000 yd. passing seasons at LSU did Bert have?

I like to hear the views of old-school LSU fans and my brothers would always ask our dad and uncles about the players of the 50-60's and this what was all agreed on by the "old men":

1. Jerry Stovall was great and deserved the Heisman and they felt he was a better all-around player than Cannon.
2. They thought Bert Jones was awful at first, but something clicked in Jones and he became a different player.
3. Casanova was the best LSU player they ever saw!

My lifetime of LSU I like Dalton as my favorite Tiger on offense and either Steve Rehage (?) or Brooks on defense.

The old-timers on this board need to educate the young punks (20's and younger) about who really were the great Tigers of all-time. All in good fun young punks.

Norm played 71-72-73.

Also Todd Kinchen since I blocked for him in High School and he owes his greatness directly to me.
