In the post game Wade said they were much better on D in the first half cause the coaches can communicate with them on that end of the court so Wade an Co can call out things they are seeing. In the first half we held them to 29 and 8 of those points came off of scramble plays. But in the second half, on the other end no one is communicating. And its baffling on why we can't figure this out.
Perhaps what's going on is that Wade is making things far too complicated on that end of the floor. That's leading to paralysis by analysis. I can promise you that LSU is never "under-prepared" for a game. Wade is a details and analytics nut. But many, many times a game you'll see LSU give up an easy basket and the coaches (not just Wade) go ballistic yelling at the player, only for the player to look back at them with his hands in the air and a look of confusion saying he didn't know where to go, or thought something else was supposed to happen on that play. When that confusion happens over, and over, and over, and over again, then there is something being lost in either the communication or understanding of what is supposed to be going on.
You can have the most detailed scouting report in the history of basketball. But if your players are frozen and lost trying to THINK about what to do instead of just reacting, none of it matters. Without the ability to execute it the game plan doesn't matter.
I think that is one trait a guy like Ed Orgeron understands on the football side. He's talked about how his coordinators are very smart guys and have tremendous knowledge and ability to scheme. But when one of his coordinators comes to him with a scheme/concept they want to implement the very first thing Ed asks is "how are you going to teach it?" He knows that while a concept may be great on paper, it doesn't matter if the players can't understand and execute it.
If Wade is frustrated because guys don't know where they are supposed to be and/or what they're suppose to be doing, then don't you have to ask yourself, as a coach, WHY don't they know?

I 100% believe this is it. He mentioned before the season he and the coaches spent some time with NBA teams to learn different ways of playing defense and well look at us. We switched to the 2-3 for one play and someone didn't even move, stuck thinking.
Wades had good defenses in the past at VCU, so I don't believe he can't just not coach defense, but shite what we are doing out there is baffling.

Watford because he plays lazy defense
He's not the only one. Smart was throwing up stupid shots, and just stood there while UK ran past him in transition.
