He will put on some weight eventually. I never said he should weigh 160. But he doesnt need to be 200. Those guys you listed are 2-5 inches taller than him, thats a huge difference in weight.
Watson should probably sit about 180 when he goes pro. Also, most of those numbers on their player cards are from their freshman year when the bio is entered. Hes likely more than that now.

Alex bregman is 6ft 180lbs and is currently leading the AL in HRs. So maybe weight doesn't have everything to do with hitting?

Not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying whoever is in charge of strength and conditioning is doing a piss poor job, because there are 5-6 guys in the line up that can put on another 10-15 pounds and be better players.

Travis Roy is the strength coach, one google is quicker than making this pointless thread.

And how will 10 extra pounds make then better players?

Maybe Hughes will have the power to hit the ball past the infield dirt?
Not to mentioned we finished tied for 7th in homeruns and 10th in doubles in the SEC

So first you pick out the best athletes in the world playing baseball and then compare them to the worst hitter on our team. Yea this is definitely a troll

I think Maineri wants his guys that size. He’s said he wants lean athletic guys, especially in the outfield.
The last time we had a big lefty was who, Matt Clarke?

You just named 3 LSU guys and said they have 3 or 4. You didn’t even mention moffitt or beloso or bianco. That gives us 6

You think Christian Yelich is a power lifter?

You know none of these guys played college baseball right? And one was committed to LSU.

Yes I understand that. Its to prove a point that you can weigh more than 160 pounds and be a good outfielder. I mean this team doesn’t have many power hitters. Its a fact. Paul likes smaller faster players and I think its dumb. And thats part of why we have 1 baseball title with his style of recruiting instead of 5 like the Gorilla ball days.

Also, maybe the bats have a little something to do with that
ETA Please list all the teams that have won the CWS in CPM's tenure with great HR numbers

Yea you definitely want your centerfielder putting on all the weight he can. No way that affects his speed or fielding right
Strength increases speed. It also would be nice to maybe not have noodle arms in all three OF positions.
