I seem to remember Jeter (#44) being in the backfield and playing an H-back (FB/TE) type role last year. Him or Ducre in when we're looking for a dynamic FB.

JD Moore

I think he has real potential to get some significant snaps if he's dedicated to the weight room and improving his explosiveness. Moore got playing time in the blowouts, and showed that he's a high-effort, hard-charging fullback -- based on the way he played in those games, I would think that he's a very high-intensity practice player -- giving the starters a good look on scout team, which is extremely undervalued.

Saban used to talk about how those types of players, guys like Leo Desselle, were invaluable to the success of the program.

Think about how (physically) yards are gained, then you should have a greater appreciation for fullbacks.

When the running game is rolling and you've got your fullback smashing defenders, you're chipping away at a Defense's Will. That's what make his arse quit is about.

That doesn't mean that you constrict the Offense to running between the tackles. If you do that, even to enough of an extent, teams that can match the physicality will stymie your Offense. That's why balance, diversity, deception, etc., are important.
