I don’t know man, I think he will be one of those guys that starts playing a lot. Maybe even at edge on short yardage. I think he is one of those guys too talented to not play. He looked awesome in spring game

I agree Whit Weeks will be a problem at some point. Don't think it will be this year but he'll be a starter next year definitely.

ETA Forgot about Holly that position is loaded. And somehow you picked the two least exciting guys in Cain/Diggs.

Did you watch Diggs film at ND, the dude is an excellent pass catchier out the backfield

Not sure any other freshmen plays a ton or is currently on the 2 deep,

Sampson is in the 2 deep at wr

I’m not sure Toviano is in the 2 deep

Freshman usually step up around mid season, someone like Heard may shift up the line and give them best possible rotation. DJ Chester Is another one to watch due to his size and talent. Granted Turner is a 5 year senior that played well last year, but lacks the size and gets pushed back too much

Do you think Sampson would enter a game before Hilton. They are Interchangeable. WR is more of a 1-6 thing then a 1-2 1-2 1-2 thing

And Toviano is going to be forced to play I think . Another interchangeable piece

This is certainly a challenge to pick with all the talented newcomers and transfers.

And who knows about injuries?

Yes, Whit Weeks on defense and Heard on offense.

By week 5, yeah.

He’s made as many plays as Hilton in practices and has the more upside.

I know during last high school season you said he was raw and was a master of only a deep ball but he’s been the best freshman wr in camp.

Also got some run with the 1s a couple of times

If we’re going strictly 1-2 then Womack and Howard aren’t in the 2 deep.

At edge it’s the 2 transfers ahead of them

We’ll see though

I like Sampson. Thought he was a firm 4 star. I don’t think he plays a ton unless someone gets hurt. He has a useable skillset as an outside WR but will need some polish for sure.

You think he gets more snaps than Pimpton?

No, I think pimpton will play a ton

If we didn’t have a Mason Taylor, he would be the starter imo

Pimpton will basically be a glorified WR but will never be listed that way. He does a lot of the things Sampson does well, outside of get deep.

He’ll definitely be a ST player, probably from Game 1, but I wouldn’t count him coming off the edge some. Not saying he’s the athlete Perkins is, but he’s listed at 6’3” 222 while Harold is listed at 6’1 220 and probably played closer to 205-210 last year. And we played him off the edge last year undersized when we had BJ playing Jack.

We’ve got decent depth at Jack this year, but we don’t have a BJ. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he found his way onto the field at edge to rush the passer at some point. And he’s athletic enough to line up there and drop back in coverage so as not to be so predictable when he comes in and lines up there.

Apparently, he’s not only just a great athlete, but a great overall football player. Played LB last year, off ball and off the edge, played RB and TE/WR, and even returned kicks. I think he’s a dude and could be a weapon at some point, beyond just being a back up who only plays in blowouts or if somebody ahead of him gets hurt. I think he’ll have a role of some sort even when we’re 100% healthy. How long it takes for that to emerge will be interesting to watch. But his size, athleticism, versatility, and just being and overall great football player plays and could see him playing early.

Where is Swinson fitting in? He was a monster in the spring game but I haven't heard much talk about him since .

I don’t think so man, Hilton is healthy now and going on his 3rd year with program. It’s going to be hard for any of the freshmen to get a lot of looks. I believe that if LSU stays healthy, they will redshirt them

I think both Pimpton and Sampson both redshirt, It seems that Markway will be the one in there with Taylor. The future looks bright in 2024, Nuss will be slinging it

Edge will end being someone like Jaxon Howard’s spot in future I think. I don’t see anyone challenging Ovie or Swinson this year
