LSU. you will not see the zone 4 man rush(mainly to bat down passes) in SEC play. We played to not give up the big play in holgerson's BOOM or BUST offense. We succeeded and had WVU starting drives all from inside their 10 yard line.

Bama and LSU are very similar. I think LSU is a little faster, but Bama is more experienced and consistent.
LSU will force more turnovers, but bama looks like everyone is on the same page with very few mistakes.

This is why we will need jj back. Although some won't admit it.

In every area of the game, Bama is very disciplined, probably more so than LSU, mostly because of fear f their coach. I don't however know how much passion they play with, and how they leave their guts on the field for their coach, which LSU will do in a heartbeat. The two teams are very different because of the coaches, so it's difficult to measure. LSU is more likely to play lights out and exceed expectations, out of passion, while Bama, continues to play disciplined football so their coach won't chew their arse. Kind of like the USA versus Germany in WWII, therefore, LSU (USA) wins!!

After 4 games in the season, which team do you guys think has the better rush, pass and overall defense? Did LSU lose a little bit of it's aura last night or was it a deliberate game plan?
I think LSU has the better Defense in terms of doing what is needed to win the game and not in terms of stats.
Against MSU/OR they stuffed the run - this time the O came to play and they needed to just ensure that the O could score with ease and that is exactly what they did.
WVU
3 drives - 2 Passing TD , 1 Rushing TD
4 drives - Turnovers
6 drives - Punt
I think they accomplished the task that was set before them.
We have to remember 3/4 games played away - constant high intensity and emotional levels, against ranked teams with a totally different O than what is usually seen in the SEC and rent-a-win teams.
They are just kids - have to have a bad day sometime and if this is their worst day at the end of a tired month - I shall take them over Bama any day of the week and Twice on Saturdays.

Bama! They have 3 future NFL linebackers. We have zero.
We didn't get any pressure on Smith.
Saban is better than Chavis.

LSU DL better against the run
LSU DBs force TOs
LSU got 4 TOs against a ranked opp at their home.
Chavis is better than Kirby Smart.

Bama. Even if it was just scheme last night, LSU showed chinks in the armor. Bama has looked solid all season.

Bama has a better D
They have all-american linebackers. We have Hatcher

OMG, I have never witnessed so much
after a great win, on the road, against a top 15 team. My God people, grow a pair! Chavis/Miles sacrifced yards to keep the ball in front of them. Apparently every one in the country saw that but narrow-minded LSU "fans"!

Alabama...and not really close.

Again, Bama becuase of coaching,Chavis has great athletes but he can't make adjustments- get Hatcher out of the game- go with 6 DB's that can cover and play aggresive! Hatcher out- Loston in!

Goddamn, so if you think Bama has a better defense you are crying? What a wuss. You have to be blind to the obvious to be a real fan?

Yes Roger.
We either must suck horribly....or be the best.
Bama has maybe the best looking D I have seen at 4 games. We will see, it is a long season. Injuries and scheme may catch up with them. But right now LSU has a good D. Along with Fla. Bama has a great D.

Yeah, and LSU and Alabama both play UF, Arky and each other this year so it will be fairly easy to compare "apples to apples." Right now, Bama just looks more solid and consistent. They really impressed me vs Arkansas yesterday.

1) I think people are underestimating geno smith
2) lsu isn't stat orientated. We play our game of football. Call it bend but don't break or whatever. It's working.
3) Penn state is a nobody. And Arkansas is over rated.
I'll call push but it's still kind of early.

I think LSU lacked intensity yesterday, not ability. Third and long repeatedly overcome by WVU, and it was frustrating. Hopefully the fire will return next week, and the following. Out of the gate yesterday the Tigers defense seemed to be rather lax compared to the Oregon and MSU games.

See, I disagree w/this. As good as Trent/Lacey are, I just don't see them lining up, running, and having success.
I think the two teams are very, very similar, and that game is the de facto MNC game.
