re: Which QB should start and/or play more vs WKU, and why?

Hehehe...LSU 9 - Alabama 6
Offense put special teams in position to kick field goals. Special teams kept Alabama with long fields. Defense held Alabama to two field goals.

Your a jackass. If JJ becomes our starter/main QB, we will lose a game or two. We don't score enough with him at QB. Fact
You're an idiot. without JJ vs Alabama WE LOSE. Face it dude, Lee is a great guy but HE CAN NOT WIN THE BIG ONE. Sure everyone will bitch at me for saying this but JJ can handle the pressure of elite teams...Lee can't handle the pressure. It seems JJ just needs to graduate and get away so everybody can be happy in tigerland.

I agree with that sentiment

Actually, it was Mo Claiborne's interception that got us in position for the second FG and overtime rules that had us in position for the FG in OT even if we didn't gain a single yard.
JJ didn't make mistakes, but he was far from good last night. JL made some bad reads that got him in trouble. I think he was playing too tight and was pressing. He needs to remain the starter, get his confidence back, and learn to settle down in the big games. JJ should continue to see snaps, but not the majority of them. Oh, and we need to get rid of the play where we have JC Copeland in the backfield alongside JJ and we fake the read option to Copeland and then use him as a lead blocker for JJ. Who really thinks JJ is going to handoff to Copeland? That play, my friends, is totally predictable.

bottom line...Les Miles knows who can win the game when the game is on the line. We all saw it last night on the biggest stage other than the NCG.

We are lucky that JJ didn't play last night !

Keep it likr its been, Lee had an off night ,it happens,JJ showed why we need him also. So keep it about 50/50 yil we get up enough to let Mett play.

Start JL. Just because JL has a bad game, why switch things up? We didn't switch it up last year just because JJ had a bad game or two, or three. I say Lee should start and JJ should be worked into the game as per usual. JL has earned the job and two INT's should not cause him to lose it. It was good that JJ was able to give us a spark but IMO JL remains the starter.

Lee without question.
I can't wait till next year when we have a complete package playing QB and can actually watch a QB run the machine from start to finish. A QB needs to find a groove and stay in it. We haven't seen that in a few years except for the first 4 games of this year.

Very sorry. Lee is awesome. Wish he would have stayed in the whole game. All of you would be bitching for a rematch.

Lee should start and play most of the first half and rebuild his confidence. Let JJ come in under some situational snaps. I would love to see Mett play the entire 2nd half. Let him throw a good bit. He needs experience.

the guy has been nails all year long. He messed up twice last night and our HC bailed out on him. Our offense did nothing, absolutely nothing, with JJ in there.
I would disagree on several counts. I think the primary reason Lee didn't get back in is that Miles decided that the game didn't play to his strengths. In other words, the interceptions weren't the cause of him getting pulled, but a symptom of the larger problem, i.e. Bama's coverage didn't give Lee and our receivers any space at all. (No one smothers a passing attack like Saban's D.) And, the power running game wasn't getting any traction, which added to the problems. JJ was able to spread the field laterally (utilizing Ford's speed to good effect) and he was able to extend a couple of drives with his legs. While this didn't result in any TDs, it did shift field position by 10-20 yards on occasion (crucial in a game like this!), where we might well have suffered a lot more 3-and-outs if Lee had been in, not because he's not a good QB, but because we were playing into Bama's defensive strength with him in there, something Miles realized pretty quickly. And, remember, it was JJ who drove us on our only sustained drive of the night, at the end of the first half. If I remember correctly, that's the only time either team got to within the 10 yard line until overtime.
Going forward, I agree with those who say that Lee should start and get plenty of work this week, if for nothing else, then to get his confidence back. We'll need both QBs down the stretch, and I suspect that Les will play one or the other depending on what the D gives him.

the rest of the season is riding on JJ, but I would start Lee just to make sure he knows the staff has confidence in him should JJ get hurt...

One FG was due to Mo's int.
The other was busted coverage on RS. That happens with Lee and it's a TD. And therefore no need for OT.
Both QBs were not very good. No need to change the starter.

Miles will let JL+JJ combine for about 20 passes. They will never get to work on their passing game.
