Remember PP's tackle on Tebow in the open field, last year? Would like to see him against Cam.

Jerico Nelson.

Unfortunately, he's only 5'9, 195... so basically a DB.

that was my point.

Newton is listed at 247lbs and Mingo is list at 237.. Not that big of a difference.

Size and Speed: Shep. 6'3" 240 vs 6'6" 250. Both deceptively quick.

In the open field, I'll take PP7 any day. That open field tackle on Tebow last year is still one of my favorite plays to watch.

Technique, son!

As far as our defenses rep & several d draft prospects, this game has a lot at stake.

The dude is a few pounds short of being Lebron in football pads

Crazy thing is that Lebron James was actually a nasty football player and was going to to ranked as the #1 WR in America going into his Senior year in high school but he decided not to play his Senior year and went with basketball. The rest is history.

If that stat is true, yes but Newton is always being said as weighing in at 255 Lbs while Mingo's weight seems to be a chore to stick around 235 lbs based on passed news reports. You're right who cares hope we find out the answer Saturday.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tyranne Matheius take him on. But seriously, Mingo could give a backbreaking hit. Not to mention the animosity of Drank Nevis and the killer instincts of Kelvin Sheppard and Patrick Peterson.

Gotta be a 1-2 punch - Nevis controls Newton's movement, and Shep tees off on his a@@

I don't know about the ole 1-2 punch. We have some really hard nosed hitters.

OK, a combo is probably required - but I think the D is up to it. If they and/or special teams can put some points on the board I like our chances...

Come on now. Our defense is great. I can see them really lighting up this AU offense.

I say again - our defense is up to it. That said, we'll give up some points, so I think we need some non-offense scoring to put us over the top....

I think we can both agree on a great performance by our D and ST.

Yep - honestly, the offense has given me some cardiac events this year, but thus far I'm happy with the season - thought for sure we'd have at least one loss by now. The D + PP7/Special Teams will keep us competitive, and I believe we've got a shot at the SECG this year.

Some people are fricking rediculous. To say that fig newton is basically lebron in pads is just stupid. Lebron is the best athlete in the world and I bet newton doesn't run faster than a 4.7. Yes, he is quick, but 4.4, 4.5 you obviously have never played sports because that's fast. If you play QB and run that, you might as well go ahead and cash in your checks.

Not that it matters, because he won't be playing in this game, but Montgomery has similar measurables to Newton. But, like a few people have already mentioned, Mingo is a matchup that I'd like to see.
