Do the coaches teach these star recruits anything in practice? JJ looks the same as his first start. Maybe the playbook should be scaled back a little so the players can run the plays. To many all-star high school players come to the Tigers offense and stay lost. May be the play book and not the players.

i have seen player progression at every position except for qb. Gary crowton is our qb coach.

I saw progression from game 1 to game 2. RB pops out here and so do our dbs. Loston still needs work, but that will come with the snaps.

A ton of players are progressing from year to year. Jefferson not progressing in the most visible position makes it seem like more players aren't progressing.

What about RS having to move to WR?
MF not knowing the playbook well enough to see minutes?
I know the defense progresses, but offensive skill positions for the last several years seem to leave fans wanting. Look at the NFL draft the last several year and a consistent comment about Tiger receivers is that the showed a lot of potential, but have not really lived up to it. . .

RS is not a qb, why do you think he came to LSU? One reason was we were one of the only teams to say we would give him a shot at qb.

What about MF? did you not see two frehsmen RB play last night? So they can learn the playbook, but ford cant and its the coaches fault?

Oh and lafell starts for carolina. Doucet played against the saints in the playoffs.

What is several years? you talking about since miles has been coach?

Last three years I have found the progression of LSUs players disappointing. Maybe I expect too much, but LSU offensive players have look lost for the last three years.

What is the one constant the last three years? Poor QB play. That's the thing.

As others have stated, there has been progression across the board except at QB. You could see MAJOR progression in the secondary last night. I know Vandy's QB isn't going to lite anyone up, but I'm talking about knowing their assignments. They were out of position a bunch against UNC, and they were IN position all night last night. The DL is certainly progressing. The RBs seem to be progressing. Just because Ford doesn't see PT doesn't mean the coaches aren't teaching him. Blue and Ware seem to get it...as well as Ridley, who has made improvements since he's been in the lineup. It's Shep's first year as WR. Randle is a better WR than he was last season. Last year he looked lost at times when he was in, unless he was the primary receiver.

The really alarming thing is that LSU does not have anyone coming up at QB. Missing on recruiting a top QB is getting to be a habit.
