This is not the pros. Most of our players are staying only 3-4 years. How do you rebuild in 5 years when you only have 4 with any particular player. What LSU needs is a coach who can adjust and create an offense tailored to the talent he has rather than try to make that talent fit into his system. By now they should be losing more close games and seeing fewer blowouts. After 3 years, they are simply not buying into what he's selling once they begin playing.

The Ole Myth loss on Saturday only reminds us that TJ coached them to losses to Nicholls State and Coastal Carolina. When did we become the bottom of the barrel in basketball? LSU is not the bottom of anything and we should never put up with this. TJ should have been fired in December.

Trent made his biggest mistake first by not hiring Butch as his top recruiting coach. Butch could recruit Trent has not done very well.

Butch was not staying after not getting the head coaching job here. His philosphy and TJ's are not even close as you can see with the type of players he has brought in here. I can assure you the only kid on this team Butch would have even considered is Ralston Turner. TJ's not interested in the type of kid Butch would recruit.

Headed?
dude it's already there. this season is lost, next year MIGHT be better but certainly not championship contending caliber so FWIW
The LSU Mens Basketball Program has no direction at the current time. With incoming recruits, the possibility of improvement in upcoming seasons looks to be there, but that certainly is no guarantee. 25 point losses at home to teams that have not won a conference game certainly does not inspire much confidence in the current coaching staff but it's a wait and see deal right now, Alleva seems to love him some stoneface (i.e TJ)

Dude, no one is happy about how things are going with the LSU basketball program, but that doesn't mean you have to make shite up from scratch. The fact is that Oklahoma State has an average team right now and will likely have a losing conference record. Their best players are upperclassmen who Butch didn't recruit and LSU's freshman class is better than Oklahoma State's.
OSU has been blown out by unranked Gonzaga and Baylor.

5th place finish in SEC West in 2011.
The big picture? I don't know if TJ is the long-term answer. I thought it was a solid hire 3 years ago, but several losses this year have been completely inexcusable. Ole Miss game on Saturday was as bad as it gets.
The program is headed nowhere if this continues.

I doubt it, i am sick of the argument TJ started from scratch here, yea right. He is starting from scratch now, the group he took over was loaded and with that being said he didn't need to rebuild he just needed to reload. It sure would have been easier to get a top notch kid to come to LSU then than now. I know you think TJ is gonna be the savior here and at first I thought he could do it here to. When he signed Ludwig and Bass it concerned me, and now with this class. Especially I remember him raving about Malcolm White, White is not very good. I seriously question TJ's talent evaluation. I think Ralston Turner is a player, stringer is okay, and darenbecker is too slow, which is hard to overcome. I am just disappointed in the fact we look lost out there. We never come out of a time out and score, we have been getting killed in the second half, and our defense is terrible. When you lose the games we have this year to opponents we have lost to, some of them blow-outs....it's on the coach.

Butch recruited many 5 star recruits to LSU, lord knows Brady didn't recruit them. I know Butch interviewing for the HC job would have been tense for Trent, but LSU was never going to hire Butch as a HC. LSU should have told Butch as much. I know Butch wanted to stay in LA. To be a HC Butch would have to start at a small school.
