No one is crowing the team in here. We are dragging a guy who wouldn’t listen to everyone who had actually watched State play and tried to tell him they weren’t going to be able to expose our defense, as he predicted.

That said, there’s reason for optimism even as bad as State was. We were down two starters on the road and still played better and with more discipline. Harris is proving to be a legit SEC corner and seems to have his head on straight. The staff has Perkins in a role that fits him better now and he’s back to creating havoc up front. Weeks at MLB was eye-opening. If we are moving Perkins away from the middle, it’s good to know we still have depth there when Speights returns.

The defense still has plenty of improving to do, but are you saying you don’t feel a little better about their potential after what you saw vs State? That’s not “crowning.”

The FSU game was not an auburn/Arkansas type game. Jayden played well, not as good as he did yesterday but he didn’t lose us that game.
