The Skenes All Star announcement listed some former LSU players including 3 time All Star, Brian Wilson.

He went from this: LINK

To this:
quote:

Wilson lives in LA and shared with "Murph & Mac" he has been spending time with the Pepperdine University baseball team, holding chapel with them and sharing his wisdom of the game. While it provides him with a way to be close to baseball once again, he said there's always the chance he could return as a coach.

Never a dull day with him I’m sure.

Seems like a good excuse to spend time in Malibu, CA

Good for him. I remember him going on college gameday dressed like Brad Wing

Actually not shocking at all.

His eccentric persona aside, dude was always uber religious, even when he was at LSU.

He just seemed out there and had some craziness about him.

Having met him a couple of times, the vibe I got is that he was more of a marketing genius than actually a space cadet.

If anyone wants to see elite Wilson heat, they should find a clip of him mowing down Wyn Spencer of Tulane on straight GAS to close out game 1 of the Super at Zephyr in 01. Inside fastball brought Spencer to his knees.

i never met him, but him growing the beard just catapulted him into stardom fame wise.

not sure if that’s why he grew it or not, but it worked.

This is without a doubt. He is super intelligent from everything I’ve read about him.

I felt his dominance was so short lived. Like 2010 and 2011 and then he fell off hard. Very similar to Tim Lincecum. Both were dominating but very short timeframe.

He was up about 6.5 years. Not bad making 3 All Star teams.

Sadly, it’s not haha. That was my freshman year. Had some classes with Wilson. Also, the previous summer I had played on a summer team with Wyn Spencer and Lane Mestepey, both Central Private baws. Spencer was a good hitter, but he was absolutely overpowered by Wilson in that super at bat. Spencer ended up transferring to Southeastern and Wilson ended up an MLB elite closer. Shocked I wasn’t.

That’s not a bad place to spend some time.
