Excellent. Don't come at me with excuses should your team fall.

We're finally healthy and it shows by smashing teams on both lines the last 3 games even worse than you did.

Tell me more about "smashing" Ole Miss & Vandy. Oh, you mean State? Well, if you say that the Bama game was your "All SEC QB's" first start, then we'll admit that when we went on the road to Starkville, it was only our backup quarterback's 2nd start of the year with zero fall camp. So I'd say that's a push in those two performances under Center.

Our starters have rested in the 4th qtr and are fresh.

You think we've been "tested" the last two weeks?
I don't believe I said you weren't but I will say we're healthy for the first time all year

quote:
Does that mean we win against you, not sure if our oline has really jelled or the competition is just that bad.

Was your competition bad? Be honest & answer that question for yourself.
Honestly they're bad but we handled them a little easier than you

This game is a game of matchups. We've got the QBs, WRs, special teams. You've got the Dline, secondary, rbs, and oline. Lbs are a push.

You're comparing Unit vs Unit. In reality, you should compare

QB/OL vs Pass Rush/SecondaryGreat matchup, we'll see that's why I said we'll see if we've jelled. Or wideouts will not be stopped consistently. You have some great DBs but sorry we just have too many weapons here.
Front 7 vs OL - PassYou should have an advantage
Front 7 vs OL - RunYou do have an advantage although our per attempt avg is higher than yours. Probably because your a 65/35 run vs pass and we're a 55/45 pass vs run offense.
WR vs LB/DB
The only straight up matchup is ST vs STYour punter is great but our entire return game is GREAT. You'll play cat and mouse here to neutralize the return game.

If you truly feel like your QB & your OL can beat our Pass Rush & Secondary, consistently enough to beat us, we agree to disagree.Hmm consistently, not sure, enough to win, maybe but that's why its not played on paper. I feel like ours will do enough to keep balance. These two teams are a study in contrasts in that department. We throw to keep you honest. You throw as a primary goal.

Front 7 vs. OL - Pass

I think we beat you there easily when we have the ball. When you have the ball, your QB has taken shots this year, & while he can move around a little, we have shown to be more than one-trick ponies. We will get our sohts, & get our pressure. Our Secondary will have their chances as a result. No doubt your front is talented and strong but if you pin your ears back all the time your secondary will get beat for big plays. The key is can we slow down the front four enough and keep them honest . Big key to the game but stats say you can do this.

Front 7 vs OL - Run

This is pretty open & shut. You aren't going to run against us. Maybe some draws & delays. That's it. When we've got the ball? Its Katie Bar the Door. You are going to have great difficulty stopping our ground game. Period. You haven't played a passing team other than a weak WVU. Our pass can set up the run and we could get ours.

WR vs. LB/DB

This is the best matchup for you heading in. With an OL that's going to have protection issues, it somewhat dulls the blade here for you guys. Bottom line, though, is that you had 3 busted plays off talent/execution lapses last year. Not because you were the "better team" per se. We have closed those talent gaps heading into the game, though our Safety health is a little poor right now. I'd say this is a push. Really I thought you were being honest. Sorry this one is in our favor for sure. We've got 4 future NFL Draft picks-not players, but draft picks-including high rounders in our Secondary. What did PP get drafted last year, how did that work out against this group. Look we don't have one WR, we have 5 very good WRs and a Very Good TE. Thats a whole lot to cover if the qb has time, that's the real key.

Against us, nobody has shown capable of stopping the zone stretch ability of Randle this year. Beckham has also shown the ability to get open consistently, & Shepard has come on since coming back. I think we'll get ours.Sure you might but you might throw a pick too. I'm not sold that your qb can stretch the field sorry.

Special Teams

You guys think Joe Adams is the best. He could very well be. But we've got the best coverage unit in America. We'll see how that works for you. The real advantage for you guys may be on kickoffs. We'll see. Can't wait to find out!

I think we don't possess the ability to truly impact the game in our return department, though we're quite respectable.

quote:
See you Friday and hope both teams are injury free.

Bottom line is your resume says you should win but we've got a big package to prepare in a very short amount of time.

Nice ending. I AGREE!!!!

First of all, I never make "excuses" for anyone. Second, I'm not worried about any type of "fall". Neither you, nor any other Arky poster, has even remotely broached any stat which has caused me the slightest bit of concern.

Arky avgs 39.7 ppg vs HORRIBLE opponents. LSU avgs 37.9 ppg vs considerably better opponents.
GTFO with that shite.
