If LSU is going to be successful this season we all know the O will have to improve and really lead the team eapecially early. When's the last time the offense was the dominant unit of our team? 07?

I'd say last year for the last half of the season. If our offense didnt step up in the Ole Miss and Arkansas games, we would have been 8-4.
I know you can do this the other way too, my point just being that honestly the offense really carried this team down the stretch when the defense seem to give up big play after big play

Granted that you could pick and choose games where the O played well but LSU has been known for D for a long time now. It's just strange going into a season saying we will rely heavily on our offense for wins.

07 still git ys twi lisses and the sec is stronger than ever. Two losses wont get us out if the west. i really dont think you can have it both ways. quick scoring offense still means ur d is on the field longer.

2007. The defense was outstanding.. then everyone got hurt and the offense carried the team.

2001 is the best example of a terrible defense being overcome by a fantastic offense.

Never, but that doesn't really mean anything. LA has always had great athletes on both sides of the ball. When LSU wasn't successful, it was because they didn't get recruits in general, not that they lagged on defense.

The offense was good in 08. Just a lot of picks were taken to the house. but they put up tons of points

2007 was mostly the offense.

2008 the offense took and gave away in equal parts

And a couple games here and there since. It's really been an embarrassing stretch of offense for a major football power.
