You mean the smaller arena Auburn built because we couldn't fill up Beard Eaves?

LSU can't feel up the PMAC so building a 10K arena with suites (and the ability to expand to 15K if needed) would make for a better enviroment IMO.

There is no reason to replace the PMAC it is great. It's not out of date like the old box was. Only thing you might add to a new place is suites but you don't need that for college basketball, when we struggle to fill the place anyway except doing a handful of games a year.

another question if you build a new arena where do you put it? Maybe you could put it in the place of the old box but I don't think there is enough room there to have an entire new arena. Any other place you build it, you have to add parking lots, which adds to the construction. Unless you want LSU to play at some high school gym while we tear down the PMAC and build something else.

The PMAC is at a great place on campus, to move it would be idiotic. Because to my knowledge there probably isn't a place big enough to build the new arena on. Without messing up football parking, or moving it so far away from campus that students have to drive to the games. Which would effect attendance even more which usually sucks.

Also don't forget LSU with in the last 5 years built a new practice facility connected to the PMAC. How would that look to the boosters if you started to build a new area right after finished a new practice facility.

We'd need to sell tickets to justify a new arena. We'd need a better basketball team to sell tickets.

If we got to the point where we were consistently selling out games, I'd like to see LSU play in the river center for a season while the PMAC is dismantled and rebuilt where it is. I don't want to see it go anywhere else. It's in a great spot.

How many games you go to each year? My guess is zero Oh ...and.....gtfo with that shite

Well considering I was a student worker there...all of them, plus women's games, plus gymnastics. So yeah I know the building pretty well and like I said...The PMAC is shite.

it wouldnt be ideal but they could probably play in the river center for a year or two. Where LSU would play in the interim should not come into the conversation on whether or not they should build a new facility.

They could tear down the PMAC while leaving the practice facility and play home games at the river center and build a new arena right on top.

ETA: the PMAC is way too big. They need something along the lines of 10K in seats with a club like the NO arena and 8-12 suites.

they probably wont anytime soon. but that "remodeling" wasnt a whole lot. Most of it was flat out necessary.

Again the fact that they put a little lipstick on the pmac should not come into consideration on whether they should build a new arena.

LSU could do one of 2 things:
1. Build new arena somewhere else and turn the practice facility into a freestanding facility.
2. Teardown the PMAC and build a new one in its location. You can change the facade of the practice facility to matcht the new arena. Play in the rivercentere for a few years and maybe play volleyball and wbball in the Parker Coliseum (if that is even possible).

At places like Kansas, they aren't talking about the need to replace the Allen Fieldhouse which is a century old, creepy old arena, but very functional with tons of tradition. If a traditional basketball power like KU does not feel the need to go new, we don't either. The PMAC has not been our problem with basketball consistently winning. That old space ship has character.

Parker coliseum comment made me think, what if the Tigers played a "throwback" game at the cow palace complete with old school uniforms, court, etc. Probably too much trouble for one game, but it would be pretty cool.
