re: When was last time officials impacted an LSU game? Almost never IMO

Does anyone else still remember the Florida game in 2006 in Gainsville? Jamarcus throws a WR screen to Craig Davis, and he scores from about 20 yards out, but it's called back by a completely phantom holding call on Herman Johnson at the 3 yard line. Literally nothing that even resembled holding and no one around to have been confused with someone else. I felt that was a blatantly criminal call, and a few plays later Jamarcus fumbled on the 1 yard line. LSU would have gone up 14-7 in that game and everything derailed afterwards. That 2006 team was so much better than they ever got credit for.
LSU would have actually gone up 14-0.
The ref/line judge that made that call is now a head ref in the SEC.
Incompetance is rewarded in the SEC officials office if the right teams win.

bullshite. LSU had the ball 5[FIVE]Times inside the AU 50 in the 1st half and got ZERO points. The play-calling was horrible.
Stupid post from a stupid poster.
Every big play LSU made inside AU territory was reversed with a bad call or no call. Miles and company made great play calls that game and went deep several times. There are three great play calls I can think of right off hand in AU territory where the refs screwed us. That wasn't on Miles.

This argument is old, and I'm not going to participate, other than to mention one thing for those that may not have ever heard it.
I listened to an interview with a Big X official on Finebaum (I think) who had 28 years of experience, and I think was retired. He was asked about the LSU-Auburn '06 game.
The official's response was that he didn't see any of it live, but there was so much controversy about it that he watched it on tape. After viewing the game in its entirety, he said, "If there was ever a game to investigate for corrupt officials, this is it."
I also think Stan White, the radio announcer/ ex-Auburn QB, remarkably had some outspoken things to say in these regards.
But, regardless, it's a dead horse.
Anyone with eyes, a brain, and some football knowledge knew that game was fixed. It was quite obvious from the start.

He should be a candidate for an NFL replacement ref.

Auburn 06. Only game I can honestly say that the officials royally fricked us over multiple times. One call and human error will happen but that shite was fricking criminal IMO.

1 USC 79 - clearly two guys jumped early on the right side. Benji was lined up on their side. He would have sacked Mcdonald without touching his facemask.
2 Indiana 87 basketball - final eight. Knight intimidated the refs. At that level of competition, the refs can not be bullied by a legend coach.
3 Misst St 99 no way did that guy score. It was Dinardo's final nail in the coffin.
4 Auburn 04 you can't decide the game on that call. The stakes are too high.
5 Auburn 06 I think we all agree this was one of the most corrupt games ever.
6 Alabama 09 There were many more bad calls in this game besides pp7 int. For instance, how bout Bama has 4th and 6...LSU jumps offsides...5 yard penality...and 1st down Bama. Or JJ rushes for a 1st down by 1 1/2 yards in the 1qtr. Ball gets spotted 2 yards back. Or JJ is speared by a lunging lineman and there is no flag or ejection.
Honorable mention: Alabama 2000 LSU had to force the officials to look at the replay on the scoreboard to give them the ball on an uncontested fumble recovery.
35 years of watching LSU and I only have these 6 complaints.

Black dude. Don't remember his name. I think he's the only black head ref in the SEC now, so it isn't hard to find him...

According to my sources, no money exchanged hands. I'll leave it at that.

How many bad calls does it take to balance out the 1999 bama lsu game when the officials did not call an injury timeout?
50 non-interfence calls like the 2004 game Bama LSU Game.
20 non-catch calls like the 2011 LSU Bama game.
JESUS CHRIST WILL RETURN TO THE EARTH BEFORE ENOUGH BAD CALLS ARE MADE TO MAKE UP FOR THE 1999 LSU BAMA GAME

I'm curious where you got that information. It's wrong.

Well frick. My fault.
Thought it was the same guy. I know the one that threw the phantom holding call in 2006 is still officiating. Well, at least he was last year...
Either way, it does seem like the SEC has gotten a little better since 2009, which isn't saying much.

That phantom hold against FL did cost LSU a TD and momentum. Changed the game. But it was still early on in the game and JR didn't have to fumble the snap the next play.
People forget Tenn 2006 bc we eeked out a win, but the game shouldn't have been so close. On a punt the ball clearly hit the Tenn returners arm and LSU recovered the ball in the end zone. After replay review which clearly showed the ball change trajectory due to hitting his arm, the refs ruled it never touched the returner.

2006 UF and Auburn. Got screwed on both of those games. Hester scored but they called him down on the one. Next play JR fumbles then UF recovers and Tebow goes down and scores with the jump pass shite to the TE. Never were in it after that.
