When is it time to pull a qb?

I seem to remember Dinardo sticking with Josh Booty during his last season no matter how he performed. Then we got to that last game against Arkansas. Hal Hunter was the interim coach.
Booty started screwing around in the first quarter with his half assed play. Hunter finally got tired of it and put in Ro. Team suddenly took off and started playing lights out as it hadn't done all year. Ro didn't see the bench again, either.
Perhaps it's time to do the same thing.

Alabama looked worse than LSU before they changed their QB.

Yeah he did.

Well, first you have to know how to evaluate and develop your quarterback before knowing when to pull him. Miles can't do that, so I'm more worried about pulling him instead.

When the offense does not run properly because of the lack of execution at the qb position. When you are limited in the plays you can call because of the lack of execution on certain plays. When those plays you can't call make you predictable as hell/one-dimensional on offense, which in effect puts more pressure on the qb to execute with the defense knowing what you are limited to executing. When you have been given ample opportunities to show improvement yet you dont improve at all. Our offense has been stagnant for a while and personally I would split time this week with etling and harris. Lol, it's not like you are breaking harris' groove or anything by putting etling in for a series or two here or there.

End of the 1st quarter on 1/09/12

I would agree now is a good time. However, this staff does not coach to a recruits strengths. So, would anything really change? IDK, I would still give it a shot. I don't think Miles will.

Y'all are dumb. All reports (not from coaches) said that etling is an interception machine.
Someone who watched scrimmage said "if Harris goes down, we're screwed".
There is no rohan on this team.
Harris can play better, with a better game plan.

Personally I'd say they each play 2 drives back to back. Start Harris let him have the 1st 2 drives put Etling In let him have the next 2 drives and so on and so on until the game gets out of hand or its over. Whoever, in my opinion, plays the best has won the opportunity to start the next game. Boom. Problem solved

I'd rather see Scott than etling.

We agree.....Coach to the recruits strengths. Miles doesn't coach that way. So what changes?

Well whoever they think is 2nd string should split reps 2 drives each all game until someone steps the frick up and takes control of this offense and this team.

You see, this is the problem i have with miles and how it all really comes back on him. How in the hell is lsu in this predicament where brandon harris is our best qb and he is horrible? Hell, we do not even have 1 servicable qb on the whole damn team! How does this keep happening year in and year out at a program like lsu? It's a joke and miles has yet to address this glaring thorn in our side for so long. Then, he puts all of his effort into signing franks last year and lets shea patterson get away and sign with our rival, ole miss. Well, franks tells lsu to kiss his arse and he goes to florida so we have to then settle for lindsay scott. Once we get the guys suited up in the purple and gold, no matter how highly touted they are, they never improve, they continue to look like high school qbs with an elite team surrounding them. The qb position is and has been a huge problem for miles and his staff and I don't see it getting solved anytime soon.

When Spencer Callahan has more catches than M. Dupre.

DERP...
Ro saw WAY TOO MUCH of the bench in 2000 on Saban's first team.
ETA (per lsusports.net):
JUNIOR SEASON (2000): Played in four games with starts against Tennessee and Florida.
Tennessee was one of my ALL TIME favorite games. He didn't start the Peach Bowl against Ga Tec either, but we don't win it if he doesn't play 2nd half.

It's not always the right call, but it's the right call more often than its the call that's actually made in IMO.
Coaches have a lot more on the line than fans so it's a lot tougher to pull the plug on who they honestly think is the best bet (they started them for a reason).
You never know how someone will play under the lights until you put them out there though.
We say "what do we have to lose?"
The coach knows what he has to lose, everything.

yes, he came in against Arky in '99 and lit it up, but you got the rest of that completely WRONG. Ro saw spot duty in 2000 and then came in against Ga Tech in the Peach Bowl in the 2nd half when SABAN was the coach. And then he didn't see the bench again in 2001 (until injured in SEC CG). Booty was already gone by then.
