When does PM start coaching 3rd?

There's no way Mainieri is happy with Cain right now. Will Davis was solid there during his time at LSU, but I don't know if I trust Cain yet.

There have been more runners thrown out by a mile at home this year than any time I can remember.
It's one thing to be aggressive, but getting thrown out where the catcher is waiting on you is reckless and dumb.

Nothing at all against Cain but I still to this day have no idea why
1)two new coaches are at 1st and 3rd
2)said coaches are in their first season
3)both were pitchers
They'll both come into their own but there will be more head scratchers throughout the year as they gain experience.

yea Cain sending Reid last night, emphatically to boot, only for him to be thrown out easily at home was pretty bad. I wanted to be mad at Reid because of his gaffe earlier getting picked off at 3rd, but that was all on Cain.

Also, Vandy catcher dropping the ball on Thursday bailed out Cain on that call.

agreed... a 3rd base coach has to know his players (speed,etc.) and the ability/arm strength/accuracy, etc. of outfielders and catcher; Reid is not a good base runner, imo... his getting picked off at 3rd was bad and that also rests on the shoulders on the 3rd base coach

Third base coach needs to learn the cardinal rule of baserunning....never make the first out at home plate!
