Although I knew he wasn't the most popular hire, one thing that I was happy about was I knew that we would no longer be pushed around in the trenches by likes of Alabama etc. Coach O can recruit his arse off and he is a legend at developing lineman. We were getting demolished in the trenches before Coach O.

He was and is willing to change with the times. That’s what won us a championship last year on the way to having the best offense college football has ever seen

Once Jimbo and Herman were off the board, O was the best choice just because he could recruit. Plus was he was a Louisiana guy, but that didn't qualify or disqualify him like many think. Think about who were the others choices at the time. How have they done? Certainly didn't think O would do what he did but I thought if he could recruit as good or better than Miles the offense at some point would do better and we would be a better team.

Another good thing about O is that he recognizes his weaknesses and finds the folks that can handle those issues! He doesn’t let pride or ego hobble the team.

After 2012 Brick’s recruiting and coaching really fell off.

I get not firing him right away as the 2012 DL but it got rough till he left.

O was brought in to fix the DL recruiting issues.

While like most people I was skeptical of the hire, I remember when O was made interim coach at USC part through the season before he was hired at LSU.

Prior to that, USC was pretty much a dumpster fire and their season was for the most part over. When O took over, you could see the difference. USC all of a sudden was playing tough, crisp, disciplined football. You could sense the enthusiasm among the players. They started winning games.

O had learned the lessons from his past mistakes and made changes and LSU is now the beneficiary of it. He's a top 3 coach right now and the HC of the reigning champs. Can't say enough good about the job he's done.

O gets hired. People bitch, say the Shrimp Boat Captain will ruin us.

Shrimp Boat Captain builds a training facility with VR, antigravity treadmills, sodium-infused water coolers, and a centrifuge to do blood work for injury treatments like platelet-poor plasma therapy and stem-cell injections. Players start taking digestible electronic pills that monitor body temperature and wearing neuroimaging headgear to track brain functions in simulated conditions. WRs and TEs run routes wearing goggles that monitor their pupils to detect which eye they favored when catching passes. Staff then customizes each players routes accordingly.

Shrimp Boat Captain wins title.
