What’s the deal with the 2019 bashing all of a sudden?

“One hit wonder”
“Yeah but Burrow/Joe Brady”

The coach may very well end up getting fired but all this weird revisionist history like 2019 is something lesser because of other seasons is just weird. You don’t just stumble into the greatest season in the history of the sport on accident.

LSU doesn't win a NC without JB. No one is bashing 2019, but when O got up there at his press conference he said he welcomed the expectation to be a consistent championship program.

Look at Auburn after Cam Newton. Took two years to fire HC.

They look no better than 2020. That should be a huge red flag to leadership.

Just typical LSU fan behavior.

I think all people are saying is that these two did undoubtedly have a lot to do with us having the best team in college football ever.

We kinda did, though, just like Auburn in 2010. This is not unprecedented.

They for sure did. But the HC who both recruited them very specifically to come here gets no credit? Like what?

It wasn’t an accident.

It just wasn’t O that made any of it happen.

The Burrows reached out to LSU through Busch, who was brought here by Aranda (O was upset about it), who was hired by Miles.

Brady was identified by E after a presentation that O didn’t even attend.

Kudos to O for sticking to cheerleader in 2019 and not attempting to meddle, many other coaches would have and O has himself in the past.

Well that’s precisely what Ed Orgeron did. He brought in a QB with minimal experience and Sean Payton’s coffee boy and it just happened to work out.

No. He didn’t find either of them.

If he had so little to do with the success of that season then why does he have so much to do with the failure of last season or this first game?

He does get credit, I don't think anyone is taking that away from him. However, credit runs out after so long, especially at a school like LSU.

Before 2019 LSU, 2001 Miami was considered the greatest. Larry Coker was their coach. Larry Coker is considered the biggest fluke coach of all time (until O)

How do you get the sense they're bashing the 2019 team? If anything, they're saying that 2019 team was so good that they overcame Coach O.

Calling it what it was is t bashing it.

Was it the greatest season in CFB history? Yes
Was it an incredible championship? Yes
Did we enjoy every second of it? Yes

But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a one hit wonder. And based on what we’ve seen since, that year was more doe to Brady/Burrow/Aranda than anything else.

We are not even a shadow of that program just a season and one game later.

And you can turn things around on every national championship coach in the history of college football and make them all appear to be idiots if you want. "Oh, they didn't do that, the recruiter did! "Oh, they didn't make that decision so-and-so did!" Its idiotic.

When a coach is hired to recruit and hire the best coordinators bc you can’t run a side of the ball you can’t miss O Is missing bad on his coaching hires which is costing the school millions His o line recruiting is below par Without the best coaches O won’t succeed. Hiring two guys with no experience calling plays isn’t a good start.
