What’s better for LSU? Cooling off the press and settling or going all in

If you go all in then you give the next coach Kelly’s buyout money as a signing bonus. AND say so in the media.

I mean we are already down this road. Might as well go full speed ahead

Do YOU have that kind of money? To give the next coach Kelly's buyout as a signing bonus?

Because the LSU Athletic Department does not appear to have it.

They appear to have $30 million on hand

If LSU has a simple but definitive reason for termination with cause, and has sought to seek a settlement rather than going that route and has sufficient documentation to support the timeline, go all in. That’s what Kelly just did and has tried to make them look bad in the process.

Kelly said he was open to negotiating, LSU has made reasonable offers with no reports of counters, and now exactly 7 days (dropping a press release after midnight on the 8th day) after the new president is named (or he contract specifically says the President terminates the contract), Kelly is asserting that LSU, for the first time, started mentioning termination for cause…but they can’t do that because they had to give him written notice with a 7 day cure period.

Something is off.

Right. It’s noteworthy that we are working on a settlement, it’s a fair offer
