What's a "rookie contract" worth??

I'm assuming a good bit and think I saw someone post upwards of $800K -- if players ARE paid, is it really multiple 100s of thousands??? How the heck can that even be close.

I mean I guess I'm thinking money "enough" for a car or what not. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS?? No way. If way, I need to be done with college sports. That's ludicrous.

(not that money for a car makes it "Right")

No chance they are getting that much money IMO. 20-40k maybe + the occasional $$ handshake.

Which is why in my small, female mind "rookie minimum" makes no sense for anyone to have said OR that his comment was taken totally out of context and people ASSUMED things.
