What would LSU's record be if you were coaching?

2008: 9-3 (Florida, Georgia, Alabama)
2009: 10-2 (Florida, Alabama)

Yes, I actually think I could have a better record than Miles in the last two years. I think that most people on this board could as well.

I have no doubt I could have coached LSU in a loss to an unranked team yesterday for a fraction of Les' salary.

I know how to call a time-out. I also know how to tell my special teams coach to practice a quick field goal on Friday before a game. Therefore, I'm sure I could get a field goal unit on the field in less than 27 seconds.

I also don't pass the ball when I'm in field goal range yesterday; this is because I'm not a fricking retard.

I have no idea, but I know for sure that when you are in field goal range with a little time on the clock and a 1st down, that you run the ball a couple of plays to burn some time and then kick a field goal. And I didn't EVEN mention that you have timeouts left!!! This is a stupid question. Our talent has allowed our players to play above stupid coaching, and we are about to see that talent pool dry up and our team take a BIG TIME decline if Miles remains. It's that simple. You have to view the bigger picture.

I've never coached a football game in my life so I'd surround myself with good coaches who have. With the #1 and #2 recruiting class of LSU, I think I'd have a pretty good record. Also, I'd think up a lot of trick plays.

If the coaches I surround myself with couldn't cut it, they'd be gone. Mid-season if necessary.

Oh, and I'd take a course in arse chewing from Saban or Pelini.

4-8.

Plus, there'd be a lawsuit filed against me by Erin Andrews for sexual harassment.

then you are a retard.

There are many people that could have done better than Les Miles, they are called professional coaches. If you are/have never been one, and have no training in coaching whatsoever there is a 0.0% chance that you could coach LSU better than Les Miles.

brilliant armchair analysis. I wonder if there is more to the job than simply knowing when to call a time out?

My only experience coaching football is coaching 9 year olds.

I usually don't come down hard on college football coaches because I understand I have maybe 1/50th the football knowledge that they have.

HOWEVER...

What pisses me off is when I see coaches make mistakes that even "I" wouldn't make. That's how basic many of these errors are.

Probably 0-12, but WTF,I don't hold myself out as a Major College football coach worth 3.7 mil a year.

Right. The problem is that I'm not even surprised that Miles made those stupid play calls. It's what I expect of him.

And as long as Les Miles is your coach, you'd better get used to it.
