The reality is simple. LSU football has become more of a social event then a venue for football fans. Sure the excitement is great for a few minutes, but our fast food, instant gratification culture can't stay still or focussed long enough to stick it out and support the team.

Tailgaiting, partying, getting seen, drunk and simply having a good time trumps staying and supporting your team.

Maybe it's my age (48), upbringing or military training, but I think loyalty to the team, perseverance, respect (by staying) are more important than tailgating or getting ahead of the traffic. JMHO

If the seating configuration were more comfortable, more people may stay. I get we are not Tennessee and their clipboard size seats, but we have some fat asses in La. Reconfigure to 100,000 and restructure the sea twists accordingly.

Even just adding chairbacks to the bleachers would be a huge improvement to those uncomfortable bleachers.

A different coach and a different offensive philosophy. A new Offensive Coordinator/quarterback coach who develops players, not just sit in the pressbox with his arms folded. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Nothing, it seems to be a challenge to fans to see who can leave the earliest.

tire booting.

I don't really mind the traffic. I grab a beer out of the ice chest and I like to listen to the post game radio show in the car. Where I park, my traffic is never very bad anyway.

Award premium seat based on attendance and time spent In The stadium. Truth is, most of those people have had those tickets passed down to them and don't respect it what they do have. They are more often the last to arrive and the first to leave.

How much money do you get paid if "X" amount of people stay to watch the whole game? God some of you I swear tune into LSU football to count heads instead of watching a football game. How bout you post your address so that everyone who leaves early can mail back the money you gave them to buy the freaking ticket? You guys all complain about the same shite.

They know when LSU has a lead in the second half the offensive game plan becomes less exciting to watch this heading to the car for a less miserable ride after a win

Use the theee screens or the banners to flash up dates of the scores or highlights of other games or even live games when were on a commercial break or a time out.

Sell beer

Better tvs by concession

Smoking area

Main problem, fix the traffic

Lower concession prices (cost of beer would balance this)

I'd prefer those people just leave in that case.

It seems like I'm at a game on the Bluffs most of the time. As soon as the band finishes, the exit begins.

Football is entertainment. Gone are the days when football savvy fans enjoyed smash mouth football. You know Dick Butkusesque football with the LB standing directly in front of the QB snarling with blood dripping out of his broken nose. Hey I like that, but them days is gone. Today...it's Hollywood podnah! You got your spread offense with your deadly accurate QB capable of scoring fast (and often). It's action...and lots of it. People like their football like they like the lifestyle. Fast, with instant gratification and lots of it.

You want the fans to stay in the stands? Give them instant gratification and lots of it. None of this low scoring stuff. I mean high scoring games with lots of finesse and misdirection complete with circus catches by tall lanky receivers.

Also, throw in stuff for the family (as in LSU family). I mean LSU has outstanding participation from the tailgate community. Hell expand it. Hire Rock.....like in bands playing different style music each game. One game hard rock (i.e. ZZ Topish).Next game country (none of that Hollywood crap either). Then move on to R&B. Then for the grand finale...... finish off the season with Zydeco baby. May I suggest Buckwheat Zydeco. (Beat on that washboard brutha)

Yes that'll keep them in the stands!

Shorter length of play, or less television timeouts/break in play.
The entire game experience has become catered to the television audience, when the game should hold more value for those that attend. 3.5 to 4 hours is a ridiculous length of time.

Unfortunately, I can't see it improving in the near future. I went to school in 2011-2014 and NEVER left early. But so many people don't care about the game. Everyone gets way to drunk and starts hitting that hangover stage around half.

LSU could care less if the fans stay or leave. They get their money regardless. Only way to improve the attendance is upgrade amenities and figure out transportation.

All the excuses can be made - no beer, wifi, traffic, bathrooms hot, bla bla

Truth is that it's a custom now and people need to be called out on it or stop.

I can understand if you have a young child or we are blowing someone out or getting blown out but that was a game dammit. Coach did change.

Suck it up buttercup and support the team

Traffic never really bothered me when I was going every game.
We always just emptied the ice chest and listened to the radio at tailgate or vehicle and let traffic clear or eased over to chimes or sorranos.

Things are obv different now, with kids and being older when I'm ready to split in ready to GTFO.
So usually I just stay at home and watch or go to a bar.

As others have said in this thread, tiger stadium and LSU isn't what it used to be.
I can remember bring back magic game vs auburn, Florida in 97, Uga 03, msu and Tennessee OT games in 2001, LSU/Alabama 99, fla and auburn in 07.

Those DV days are long gone it seems. Maybe the ole miss and Alabama games can re-light that fire later this year.

Oh well, I was there for all those and will always remember it.
