This thread is full of crappy advice. A couple of people know what they are talking about......But Joe T's....crap mexican for tourists. Mattitos? More crap. Uptown is probably where most people will feel like they are in a bar scene, but it's full of douchebags.
greenville ave is making a comeback but is kind of dead. there are some chill bars on Greenville (Libertine, World of Bottles (200 craft beers), Dubliner, Stans,.....
Henderson ave has tons of bars but you get a heavy does of Dallas Douchebaggery....Capitol Pub is OK. Louie's is great pizza and a great old style chicago bar.
Deep Ellum is still trying to resurrect itself. There are some decent places like La Grange, Angry Dog for Burgers....but its pretty dead.
The East Dallas area with Lakewood Landing, Cock & Bull, Ships, Strangeways, Bryant Street Tavern is where I hang. But its pretty low key in those bars.
Mexican food is a must. My favs are Mia's on Lemmon ave. (not Mia Cocinas). Other good mexi places are Desperadoes, Mariano's and Chuy's on McKinney.
Somebody mentioned Bishop Arts area in Oak Cliff. I like this area a lot. Especially the pizza and great beer selection at Eno's, Veracruz Interior Mexican place, Gloria's (El Salvadoran/ Mexican).....but Bishop Arts is an older crowd (30's-50s) and most everything closes at midnight.
All in all, like I said, most people are going to like Uptown (McKinney ave area). The Loon seems to be popular with people on this board, but the only people I personally know who go there are people I really don't like.
Gingerman, Katy Trail Ice House are about the only places i care for in Uptown.

All the LSU hicks, rednecks and coonasses are gonna embarrass the hell outta me. I prolly won't wear any LSU gear in public for a while.

What are some places to watch the game? We're going to Arlington without tickets. We just want to get hammered with thousands of Tigah fans!

What are the SMU college bars? Looking for a 20-25 year old type crowd
ETA: Not necessarily looking for an LSU crowd. More looking for easy college women

I would say Barley House is an SMU place. Like somebody said, most SMU people hang in Uptown so when they graduate they have already earned their Douchebag certificate.

Dallas really isn't much of a college town. SMU is a pretty small school. Up in Denton where North Texas Uni is has 30,000 plus students.

Arlington is not a place where anybody hangs out. It really is just a depressing, ugly, low income suburb. But there probably will be tons of LSU people at these 2 places.

I dont have a douchbag certificate..I hang out in uptown but all my friends and roommates are the bartenders and owners of trophy, lemon, manhattan, and sfuzzis so I go there...and plus if you want nice scenery your not gonna beat Uptown...FACT

Can you specify? Like actual guido ed hardy douchebag? Or "frat douche"? I am specifically looking for the frat douche crowd because more than likely that is where all the good looking women will be.

I'll agree with you on this.

I would say Uptown is more frat douche. Although the Ed Hardy types are there too.
