It did, and it was really good. I might be wrong, but I don't think it stands that tall when you think of LSU's best defenses. I would put it above some really good defenses we've had, also though.
ETA: let me add though, for some reason when I think of the '07 defense, I remember it as post- chop block. Those guys were absolutely brutal against VT. Not so much towards the end of the year, and then came back on strong against tOSU, of course I have always thought tOSU was completely overrated.
