Can they get in with 18 wins or will they have to reach 20? Don't really care about the seed.

if they reach 20 and win at least 2 games in the sec tourney, they have a shot at the ncaa's.

however, if they win 20 and win no games in the sec tourney, they should be in the nit

Definitely don't need 20. I think if the season ended today, they would probably be in.

68 teams get into NCAA.

32 get into NIT.

LSU has the 97th RPI right now. I think they continue to win some, but if they get to 9 SEC wins I'd say they are in comfortably.

Statsheet.com projects us as a 5 seed right now. We shall see.

With the new NIT rules in plac with regard to regular season champs, no one will really know until after the conference tourneys.

THIS!

It is much harder than it used to be for teams to get into the NIT as an at large seed.

I think we split the final 4 games to push us to 9-9 in conference play. 18-11 record. I think that is NIT worthy, especially if we win a game or two in the SEC tourney.

Yeah, they mentioned a couple times that both teams are playing for their spot in the NCAA's. While I think that was a slip of the tongue or an uneducated statement, I think there's a chance if we win all or all but one of our games to close out the season.
