Kelly states in an interview DT was in the car because he had been in PDX and needed a ride to Eugene because of a trip to ESPN

It's not a question of did he have a good reason to be in the car. As a star player he's got to know to avoid situations like that. Stop making excuses for DT. A hand slap is for his own good.

This is ridiculous JDub... He moved in with his GF and they were splitting the rent. Apparently RS is not allowed to do that and has to pay it all. They discovered it early, he's paid the difference, and I expect it to be a non-issue.

Don't sugar coat it. She paid all the rent for at least one month during the summer allowing RS to keep his stipend.

I didn't argue that my program was necessarily clean, and I don't care about the court of public opinion. The coach is responsible for essentially being a surrogate father to his players in some sense. In RS case, it is clear that this was a misunderstanding of what was allowed. In that case you fix it and move on. With DT he seems to always be standing right there when trouble happens. If he's expected to be the leader of your team, then he needs to keep that from happening. When I was younger if I had been in a car going 120 that smelled of weed and was being driven by someone without a license, I can assure you that my dad would have given me a lot more than a lecture. As I said, it's for his own good.

It's not just the car being rented by an AD employee

School Employee yes, AD employee NO. There is a difference in NCAA rules between the two.

The car was a rental and there are bank documents showing deposists for the exact amount of the proportionate rental charge for the amount of time the car was used. And yes the deposits were posted prior to Cliffy getting pulled over.

So Oregon rents car for player without DL's?
Was there a deposit made to the bank for the Weed?

Stop deflecting. If RS did more than what I said, then he will likely have some problems as well. It really doesn't have anything to do with DT, now does it?

THere is also a difference when doing things that draw attention and response by law enforcement as well as the NCAA, as opposed to just NCAA investigations.

It does because you made it sound like everything was on the up and up like it was nothing.

I believe it is, but even if it isn't what does that have to do with DT? That's what we are discussing.

This is where Cliffy messed up. When the car was borrowed and paid for the agreement was Cliff would not be driving and the passenger who had a license would be.

I'm still waiting for you to show me where the GF was quoted as saying she paid the full rent allowing RS to keep his stipend, all the article says is that RS was questioned about it.

You made this statement "This is ridiculous JDub... He moved in with his GF and they were splitting the rent. Apparently RS is not allowed to do that and has to pay it all. They discovered it early, he's paid the difference, and I expect it to be a non-issue."

So I responded to it. Am I not supposed to respond to statements you make or are you just grasping at straws now because I posted a legitimate link showing your version of events is way off what is being investigated.

I'll apologize in advance for this, but will Oregon rent cars to all students?

And I came back and said that according to the article that you posted, he was being questioned for not paying rent, it was never proven and still hasn't been.

I tried to dismiss it because I believe it is a non-issue and irrelevant to the topic at hand. Let's move on, and go back to discussing DT.

If he was I'm confident that such info would not be released.

EDT: I am referring to the school testing him after.
