his point about having the AC on, was in no way related to the weather at all
Ok, got it. But it all does not really matter because you saw the cop test CLiffy's eyes for what like 2 straight mins and other tests. He was straight as a arrow. And we assume he checked the other guy not on video too(who had the license) because we heard the Stater tell the County bear that all he was going to check him out too. Then the video ended. Thus, no one was high, at least then. And as explained by other Oregonians to you guys, in Oregon they have to find it on you. They cant just smell it and go with that. Smelling it means nothing over here. And if someone were a passenger but was high, Oregon could give a shite. All they care about is finding it on you, and even then, if its a small amount, they usually do not care. If you did not know. California and Oregon is very relaxed with Pot. And many spoke it legally with a medical card. And Eugene is like the Pot capital perhaps on the West coast. I personally am against it, but just trying to explain how relaxed it is used and viewed over here is all.

Seriously, I want to move to Oregon.
Unless you like to ski or snowboard (I do) or some other activity that gets you out of the gloomy valley, the 9 months of chilly damp sunless weather will drive you insane. Though I guess medical marijuana would help.
Live here a while and it becomes extremely obvious why this place has an explosion of grunge music, microbrews and every blend of coffee in the universe. It's like a highly caffeinated version of Ireland. People from London or Dublin feel right at home here. We even have fish and chips.

NCAA Suspends UNLV Basketball Star For Pot; Group Cries Foul

Matt Shaw's college basketball career is ending because of one positive test for marijuana. If he had gotten drunk instead, he wouldn't have been punished.
?Nevadans for Sensible Marijuana Laws (NSML) has decried the NCAA suspension of University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) basketball player Matt Shaw for one year -- ending his career with the team -- because of one positive test for marijuana.
Shaw, a 6'8" junior who was fourth on the team in scoring last year, tested positive during a "random drug test" administered during the recent NCAA tournament.
"At the age of 22, Matt is an adult," said Dave Schwartz, NSML campaign manager. "As an adult, he made a rational decision to use a substance less harmful than alcohol. Now, for this simple act, his career with the Runnin' Rebels is over."
"We hope all Nevadans will stop to think about this for just one moment -- and think specifically about the fact that players who drink alcohol to excess face no punishment, at least until they assault someone," Schwartz said. "It simply makes no sense."
"And for those who say, 'He should have just followed the rules,' we say, 'Why do we have rules and laws that horribly punish people who choose to use marijuana instead of the more harmful substance, alcohol?'", Schwartz said.
Chip may not need to grow some balls, the NCAA has enough for him!

Yes I can. Easily. It was cold/rainy, 45 degrees out. They had their jackets still on. And Cliffy was driving at 118mph down a deserted stretch of freeway at 4am. There is no way in hell they had their windows down. To believe otherwise one would have to be a retard. You guys do not live in the cold and do not know what cold is. But ask yourself. What would it be like cranking the windows down in very low temps late at night while driving 118mph? It would be like walking into a standing freezer with the largest fan blowing on you. Think about it next time...

It was 45. Not -45. Do you get the weather Channel, occasionally it drps below 90 here.

I too am a Conservative and a Republican btw. While Liberals may be in the super majority at UO, as for the followers of UO football in general I think its pretty mixed, 50/50. And OSU had got quite liberal too from where they used to be as well.

Relatively speaking, I suppose.
I'm actually right of center -- pretty moderate by today's standards.

No.

Stallsworth says Harris looks tired and his eyes “are blown”
Clearly, he appeared high. After all, the smell and his appearance are what prompted officers to issue the FST to begin with.

I'm pretty sure it means probable cause no matter what state you live in. And if they had searched the vehicle, you better believe it would have been mentioned in the article.

A law enforcement officer from Linn County arrives and Stallsworth talks for a short time, saying he is going to cite Harris and let him go.
Irvin passes the sobriety test and takes the wheel of the car and the men resume their trip to Eugene after Harris receives his citations.

Actually that is a little different. That is the NCAA testing before a tournament. For drugs, each program has its own rules. A few months ago I saw this one website that showed all the different guidelines for each program ect. and I remember the SEC was the easiest one. Florida for instance I think has to have a kid caught 5 times before he is booted off the team. Most SEC schools after the 3rd time they are kicked off for some period, and 4th, longer ect... each school is diff. But I do remember seeing the SEC's and comparing them vs the PAC and the SEC's were way more easy on them. BTW, Oregon's policy on it is not a automatic kicking off for any # of times you get caught with it. It all and each time is left to the coaches decision. Its coaches discretion all the way and nothing is mandatory. But has been pointed out earlier. Chip Kelly is a hard on them, too hard if you as me. Blount had to miss all the games in a season but the 2 at the end. I would of only made him miss 1 or 2. Masoli was kicked off the team. And Cliffy has to miss at least the LSU game, all which I do not agree with. I think it is too much to fit the crime.

the whole russell shepard thing is stupid. He gets a stipend he should be able to spend it as he see's fit. When you get grant money, ss, etc same thing. He could have spent the money on utilities, food etc.
Oh, and the ncaa probably would have never known had lsu not made it a issue.
The ncaa is fricking dumb

You're half right.
It was 46 degrees and clear.

You can tell from the dash cam that it wasn't raining or rainy.
But yeah, a typical early June when the hell is summer finally going to get here morning in Oregon.
But this is getting silly.
If they had any brains they would have aired out the car no matter how "cold" it was outside.
I used to smoke cigarettes in my car when it was below freezing outside with the window cracked and you can run the heater enough to compensate if you want to keep the smoke out without freezing to death.
It gets well below 45 in Louisiana in the winter and I knew how to air out my car. Either they were too stupid to air it out or had just finished smoking right before they got pulled over. People who don't want their whole car to reek like an ashtray or a Grateful Dead concert find a way to air it out.

Maybe your right. But still also true is that what you saw is average for anybody. If a cop thinks you are telling the truth and if they ask you if they can search and the people say yes-search anywhere all day long anywhere you want, and if the peoples attitude is good with the cop not giving him a hard time- not searching is actually very common. I really do not get what any of you find objectionable with that OSP Officer at all. That was just a normal stop in action. At least in my State.

They have to do more than smell it to arrest you, but there is no jurisdiction in the country where smelling marijuana in a car pulled over doing 118 mph won't be sufficient probable cause to search the car.
The officer knew who was in the car, decided against searching it, and that's my point. You can act like that is normal in Oregon but it isn't. It is only normal for star players on major football teams.

I agree with you about your Russell Shep situation. He was splitting a place with his G-friend, splitting rent, whatever. I don't get the big deal too. BTW, did you know Russell Shep is related to Darron Thomas? First Cousins.

118 mph on a suspended license with the smell of weed in the car, yet he gets let got with nothing more than a ticket. I know you claim that 118 is no big deal up there, but the suspended license and weed is what ticks me off.

bullshite.
your guys got the benefit of being star players. Plenty of guys in the past have recieved the same treatment, at Oregon and other universities.
Doing 118, admitting to smoking pot, and smelling pot will get 9 out of 10 people searched no matter what state you are in. That 10th case is reserved for special treatment of special people
