There should be no Kevin Faulk...

The question is at what level do you set the cut off?

1. All American?

2. Consensus All American?

If you us 1: all the following could not make the list:

Y.A. Tittle
Tommy Hodson
Dalton Hilliard
Eric Andolsek
Doc Fenton only because he played in the only area in the nation that didn't name AA teams in 07-09, had he played at Penn, Michigan, USC, Clemson he would have been an AA.

If you use 2:
Jimmy Taylor
Kevin Faulk

LSU's Consensus All Americans:

Gaynell Tinysley 1936 LSU only list him as Ap but he is also on Liberty, and 2-3 others.
Sid Fournet 1952
Billy Cannon 1958-59
Max Fulger 1958
Roy Winston 1961
Jerry Stovall 1962
Remi Prudhomme 1964
George Bevan 1969
Tommy Casanova 1969-70-71
Mike Anderson 1971
Bert Jones 1972
Warren Capone 1973
Mike Williams 1974
Charles Alexander 1977-78
Lance Smith 1984
Michael Brooks 1986
Wendell Davis 1986-87
Nacho Albergamo 1987
Alan Fancea 1997
Anthony McFarland 1998
Josh Reed 2001
etc...

National award winners before 2000:
Ken Kavanugh Sr:
1939 Kunte Rockne Maxwell Award
Billy Cannon:
1959 Heisman Trophy
1959 Walter Camp player of the year
Jerry Stovall
1962 Walter Camp player of the year
Bert Jones
1972 Player of the Year

College Hall of Fame:

Doc Fenton
Abe Mickel (likely should not be in the HoF, he only played one year on first team at LSU and was 2nd team at LSU his last two years due to injuries)
Gaynell Tinsley
Ken Kavanugh Sr.
Billy Cannon
Tommy Casanova

Also I have Jerry Stovall in nomination right now.

The five true legends of LSU football are:

Doc Fenton
Gaynell Tinsley
Billy Cannon
Tommy Casanova
Glenn Dorsey

Next to those 5 only

Jerry Stovall
Bert Jones
Charles Alexander best RB after Cannon at LSu
Josh Reed for two years he could not be covered.
Ken Kavanugh Sr. best wr before the 1980's at LSu
Wendell Davis all world wr, I hate Philly!
LaRon Landry should have been a 3 time AA

Border line:
Ben Wilkerson best center in college football for 2 years
Corey Webster best CB his Jr year, played hurt his sr year, still was AA.
J. Russell his last two years at LSU were something else.

are a close line to be legends.

Dorsey is the product of lots and lots and lots of hype. He's not even the best DT to play at LSU this decade.

Chad was good, but Dorsey made everyone around him an All American.

Dorsey is head and shoulders better than any DT/NG LSU since Estay.

Glenn Dorsey has the most awards ever given in one year to a Defensive player in the history of college football.

Nick Saban said he was the best defensive lineman he had when he was a So. (a year after Chad).

Tommy T. of Auburn called him the best defensive lineman in college football.

I could go on and on with coaches oppinions; simply put Glenn Dorsey is very likely to be the best DL in LSU history and that is by a number of people who have been around LSU since the middle 30's, and thats not counting a number at LSU from the mid to late 40's.

I have only watched LSU football since 1964 and have not seen his equal at LSU and thats counting Marshall, Estay, etc.

Now there are two players in LSU history that made AA on hype alone.
