Even if given an extra year, what sophmores and Jr key contributors leave in this year’s draft? Even if they push it 5 days, Henry still falls into the 45 days. Here’s who I think...
Cabrera - 100%
Henry - 95% (Henry’s dad will pressure him IMO)
Labas - 80%
Fontenot - 60%
Who else?
From posters
Garza
How will the expanded 11.7 impact some decisions?

Assuming the draft takes place in the summer I still think Cabrera, Fontenot, Garza leave.

Henry would have 3 more years of eligibility so it becomes a hey will I get enough to sign or risk another injury.

Guys like Storz, Labas, and Mathis I’m not really sure to be honest.

Edit: the 11.7 and roster restrictions will be expanded.

He won't be drafted high enough to leave.

Garza knows he won’t be catching next year and will leave. He’s not coming back to lsu to be DH and backup catcher. Similar to why Ochinko left after his junior year. He wanted to be a catcher and the only position available to him at LSU was first base.

Has that been officially announced yet? Haven't seen it anywhere, although I've mentally checked out.

Well, I have zero faith they will get it right. It's more likely the NCAA comes back with a ruling of:

- Lose two years of eligibility
- Drop to one paid coach.
- 8.3 scholarships.
- 28 man rosters

Why? Just because.

thanks for ruining my day.

I'd bet we lose Cabrera, Henry, Garza, Fontenot, and Storz. Labas will be a toss up as will Beck and George (both Seniors). I also wouldn't be surprised to see Willis transfer. I don't think Mathis will get drafted very high, so he probably returns.

Our pitching is going to lose a lot of depth, especially if Hilliard and Walker don't return to form. We are really going to need the bats to step up. The starting pitching should be elite, but the bullpen will be young.

If you get back one or both of Beck and George then LSU will be good.

A ton of electric arms in this recruiting class.

I just don't see any point in speculating on this until we know if there is a way for players to move on to pro ball if they want to.

If there isn't a way to move guys on to pro ball, and seniors get to come back, we have a roster starting with like 53 guys. And we're still recruiting for next season, both HS and JUCO players.

besides the obvious with round and $$. if the meet the 45 day requirement, why wouldn’t they if they wanted to in fear of injury like Henry?
