I work with a person that officiates Miss High School football. He called some Oxford games, he tells me that Lane is good, sees the game better than most kids on the field and has good physical skills.

Lane has actually already been to Episcopal, when he was recruiting Arch Manning. Newman played there.

Tupelo and Oxford are 7A, the largest classification, and they played in the semi-final. Yes, they can hang with the Louisiana schools. I'm not vouching for Knox, but he did start the second half of the season and they beat a lot of good teams.
PS, here is an interesting graphic if you want to see what states put players in the NFL. Louisiana is #1 per capita, Mississippi is #2.

7A is the equivalent to 5A in Louisiana. MS doesn’t have C and B classes, those start at 1A

Yes. Louisiana high schools in 5A range from 1,000 students and up. Mississippi 7A is 1,000 and up with the biggest being 1,500.
It’s not bad football. We’ve picked up a ton of good players from Mississippi. But again, I know nothing about Knox other than he played in this division.
