Thinking his comment was sincere and can’t knock a guy for waving his team’s flag. Could have been interpreted as, “Great season, but I’m a Bama fan”. Thought you’re response was something I might have said. Obviously meant in humor, but some have a hard time with sarcasm in normal times, much less now. No harm, no foul.

I got a job out of LSU to an engineering company in Mississippi. My boss, an Ole Miss alum, is an all around good guy. The manager was a North Alabama graduate. The first day he said, "where did you go to college?" I said LSU and he said "I'm sorry". I about lost it but turned out that A-Hole and I became good friends.
