While CLM's wear down/bruising philosophy does clearly work, I do miss the days of us having a Faulk type back who was apt to score on a really long run every time he touched the ball. To me, that's one of the cool things about college ball. I love me some 50+ yard td runs. CLM's philosophy isn't conducive to that kind of back, but hey, it for sure works.

It's just a different philosophy. I didn't say it didn't work , but it's true you need a back who can pass protect. The question is does wearing them down early or beating them down late work best? The latter is ball control with a big lead don't forget.

We had to wear them down last year because we were so erratic passing the ball. This year, hopefully we're not so one dimensional and wearing teams down won't be as important.

Ford and blue are those type backs.
