he also went a specialist to prepare for the combine. not moffit.
the combine prep only helps a guy so much
things like dorsey's vertical and broad jump were improved while at LSU for 4 years. there is some refinement before the testing, but it's not a huge gain. nobody's going from 20 reps to 27 reps or getting 10" on their vert

don't even try and say his injury had nothing to do with it.
his ankle was fine when he worked out after the year
him going from a 185 lb speedster like reggie bush to a 200 lb guy had more to do with it

when he was coming out of high school he looked like a legit 4.45 guy at worst
he also wasn't starting for a reason. sometimes when guys are learning technique and positions they will look like they lost a step because they are not out there balls to the walls. jai is a good example of people here thinking he was suppose to be all world. him losing his spot to a true freshman will leave a bitter taste in their mouth for being wrong.

to be fair, one of those came after a 2-loss season
those 2 losses? in OT, when moffit's regime is supposed to really show
To be fair, yup in 50 years to be fair LSU will still be the 2007 National Champions regardless of how many loses they had.
LSU has won waaaaaaaaaay more games being more physical and tougher than their opponents than they lost.

now if peterson looks like he losses a step over the next yaer then you have a valid example.

yeah he only picks workout warriors a good # of the time like ty warren, brandon merriwhether, and lawrence maroney

Moffit could be the head strength coach at any college in america and many teams in the NFL he knows a lot more than any of yall and he is the most valuable strength coach in the country. Look at all the players that came to LSU not that great and left great i.e. stephen peterman, Jacob Hester, Quinn Johnson, kyle williams just to name a few you girls are dumb

i'm just talking pure athleticism
jai needs to move to FS

Strength and conditioning isn't well.....a strength at LSU. I don't see any solid evidence to support it. LSU players have been going to the next level not as prepared as fans believed they would. I would like to believe I am wrong and would gladly take any solid evidence to prove otherwise.

most top programs say the exact same thing about their guy
would you take moffit over, say, UT's S/C coach? if you had no allegiance to the program, just development of guys and how they develop for the NFL, who would you pick?

just as many came to LSU as studs and left as not so great

Nice counter argue with the NFL's week long testing for the NFL elite. Of course they were testing a SERIES OF DRILLS on the best. Your sitting here bitching over 1 drill, THE FORTY YARD DASH. A test that is laser timed without pads on to determine how fast a player can run on football field with pads. CRAZY STUFF.

exactly
even ignoring the combine, our guys are called out all the time for being weak and unprepared for the NFL

Jackson ran low 4.6s, was expected to be around 4.7. Scouts expected him to be SLOW for a CB.

JR ran a 4.84, most expected him closer to 5 flat.

the teams actually have to pay a lot of money to attend
the combine is run by a company completely unrelated to the NFL
NFL teams could choose not to go. it's not a required event. it is something they pay to attend

to measure athleticism
athleticism is athleticism, no matter how you want to slice it or change it

Yet we rank 4th or 5th among starters in the NFL.........Scratch your head, I know.......weird.

not really, especially after he spent weeks training to improve his speed. 4.65 isn't exactly fast

no most thought mid 4.5s

slowflow quit showing how dumb you are
That's impossible. He's a 25 year old fat kid that went to Barbe High school. He has no knowledge of anything about LSU Football Strength & Conditioning program(s).
EX: He said Landry would run a "4.55-4.6 at best" He ran a 4.35 40 & was the 6th overall player selected in the NFL Draft. He said the same non-sense about both Joe Addai & Andrew Whitworth - "He was a reach in the 2nd round, should have gone 4th or 5th round". Yeah Whit reached out & signed one hell of a new contract. Whitworth is one the Top 15 paid Offensive Lineman in the NFL today.
